Shooting for 350hp! PICS

100 Attachment(s)
Well in August of last year i purchased my first miata, a 1990 mairner blue with 87,000 miles for $1,800. Body and interior were in great shape other than the standard miata rocker rust.

Since this was purchased as a project car I was able to get to work right away. The first order of action was to get rid of the nasty rust. First step was to order a set of BTDT's patch pannels. Then to cut the old out, weld in the new etc.

Very cool. I got hit in the pass rear quarter, so those first few pics are very relative to my interests. What are the plans for this car? Street car?

MustangMike 10-15-2011 01:50 PM

Street and autocross! The quarters wernt bad at all, picked up a flange and spot welding hole combo tool at harbor freight and it went pretty easy.

looks like someone's replicating my mani/turbo combo:D
Good stuff man, keep going. Some people will tell you that turbo is too big for autocross. Fuck those people

curly 10-16-2011 12:01 AM

Why's your engine look tilted?

MustangMike 10-16-2011 10:12 PM

Haha yea i guess ill see for my self. That picture is when the motor was first droped in, it was on a huge angle, it has since been adjusted.

Stein 10-16-2011 10:25 PM

Is that an original Weedhopper in the background?

thirdgen 10-17-2011 12:26 AM

Did you do like 18psi did and block off the water ports on the turbo and run it oil only? Did you have to notch the frame at all for compressor clearance? Where did you buy your turbo from?

MustangMike 10-17-2011 11:27 AM

No in the background is a Quicksilver MXII. Nope I kept the water cooling, all I had to do to get it to fit was put a small bend in the frame with a hammer and it slid right on. I got the turbo new on ebay for, I wanna say right around $300 shipped new.

theshdwconspracy 10-22-2011 12:53 PM

i want dyno's. I'm trying to get a feeling for what these motors are capable of.

My motor build looks like yours

xcoldricex 10-19-2013 08:58 PM

18psi 10-19-2013 09:08 PM
