I can get FaeFlora to come down with his Sawzall to make the necessary changes.

Or is there a shorter studs on mcmaster that you know about that I could pick up?

Hmm I haven't looked. Most of mine are already short. I just go in there with my dremel. Make sure you block off the exhaust port before hand.

While I am waiting on Tim to finish my setup, should I pull the rest of the carpet from my car? Right now the only carpet left is what is on the ground. So it would not be to hard to pull out. Yes or No?

Do it. Paint if necessary. Rusty floorboards look nasty.

Wow, I've been missing this build for the last year. Makes me not feel so bad for how long my car is taking.

Do you expect this manifold to flow better than the typical low mount you make? Looks great.

I forgot your picture and put the belly pan back on. I'll jack with it tomorrow.

Less one chra bolt to drill.

Lars wanted 2 extra feet added to the end of the downpipe. The end of the pipe is now even with the back of the frame rails, even with the first driver's side hanger on my '92. Hell he can add a turndown and a little 3/8 rod hanger and be done. Mufflers are for old men like me.

That crane was a bitch to make. Actually no, drilling holes in stainless is a bitch without a drill press. So is tapping stainless pipe. Suck, took a whole day to make it. And the stiffness of the crane compared to the manifold itself....does the crane help? But it's certainly strong. The welds at the valvecover standoffs will be the first to break. The turnbuckle has left/right threads so you can really preload the **** outta it.

The turnbuckle is pink cause it, the heims, and the hardware were taken from a scrap bin at work. Niceeee. Non anodized turnbuckles at mcmaster are $16 if Lars doesn't like the pink. I also hear oven cleaner might take off anodizing? Also, I don't know how well the aluminum will hold up to the heat, he may have to find a steel turnbuckle.

Please, there's always a nicer manifold. You're buttering me up, I can tell.

That's a craftsman piece and lasts forever on a charge obviously. It'd be nicer if the miata hood was steel so the magnet would be more useful.

I have since seen similar pieces at harbor freight.

Are the Inco bolts in there?

I'm running a 150mph roval next weekend on Saturday and Sunday so this will be a goo reliability test. I'm confident the issue is gone.

I had to take the turbo out to put the steering rack back in (not required but a good excuse to check things), so I checked the safety-wire tension, cut one wire, and the bolts had lots of torque on them. Usually, after two track days, the bolts hold very little torque and look "burnt". These bolts look perfectly new.

Tim's fab work is art. I feel privileged to have such reliable hot-parts in my car.
