Took me 3 days to read through this thread, but it was well worth it. Great job.

Hmmm, I need to borrow a clamp-on ammeter. I'm curious why my car barely keeps up. Of course, if the fuel pump draws anywhere near 15-20 amps then I could see why that put me over the top.

Drove around after work for a little bit. Did a 4th gear pull - car is great! 14.0V in boost, solid ~60psi differential fuel pressure across the injectors - everything is great.

Made a video - its 4 minutes of me talking. No driving (sorry Vlad)

And a sexxor log:
- Look at dat awesome voltage
- Look at dat awesome fuel pressure
- Look at dat shitty AFR now that fuel pressure is good

So I just came back from doing some pulls. The plan was to do a few 4th gear, then a couple of 5th gear pulls. As I just finish, like, the third pull I come over a small crest - cop on the other side of the highway, busy pulling some SUV over.

I took it as a hint - take the first exit and go home. Penalties in VA for doing 80+ mph is 1 day in prison for 1 mile over the limit. The limit is 55 - which is about where 2nd gear maxes out.

Car hauls a lot of ******* ***, thats all I can say. I think my neck is bulking up.

I guess I'll start working out on the neck machine tomorrow in prep for my completion. xD
(it's an retarded machine)
Glad to see you got everything worked out. I'll probably turn to you if I ever run into the need for an alternate alternator.

$20 at a junkyard and my voltage went from 13v to 14v in boost.
Totally worth it

your voltage compensation code is going to be lonely now.

I hate Virginia speeding laws. I want to drive my car to a friends in VA but not without a hood that is just asking for problems.

don't speed and you won't have an issue.

I'm not aware of this, you go to jail for X days over 80+ business. That's untrue. While it is a reckless ticket, the penalty is: up to a year in jail, up to $2,500 fine, and up to 6-month loss of license.

Doesn't mean that's what's going to happen. But yeah, 80+ or 20 over = a class I misdemendor.

So dont go 20 over, or faster than 80mph and you wont have issues.

there's nothing in the VA code that says you can't drive without a hood. unsafe vehicles are considered ones without working: brakes, tires, wheels, steering mechanism, or any other condition which is likely to cause an accident or a breakdown of the motor vehicle

I don't hate virginia laws. I drive normally all the time. Its just when I need to do pulls to tune my car - I realise theres a real chance I can go to jail. And the one time I wanted to peg my speedometer - I went to MD.

I heard this from a friend that did a month in jail for doing ~98mph in 55 IIRC. Yeah there is no law that says X days of jail for Y miles. It depends on the judge but the law species that max penalty for class 1 misdemeanor is a year (!) in prison. So, no thanks.

Like I said I drive normally except when I do 4th and 5th gear pulls - then I'm really careful and paranoid.

On the way to summit point from frederick there is Rt340 witch my friends and I now refer to as Rt340 international raceway. It is a two lane highway with two spots that are just over a mile longs straights I do all my tuning out there. In the evenings the amount of cars is very low to none and lots of median and shoulder plus grass in case the worst were to happen.

Yeah I know that road well. You're probably talking about the MD side. In VA, it goes from a dinky 1-lane road to a 2-lane almost-highway for a few miles.

Point being there are cops bloody everywhere. Even though I know most of their spots, there is still a chance of going to jail for street tuning

sounds like it was adding pw when the voltage dropped...(deadtime voltage curve thing)

Nah dude its pig rich because it was tuned with fuel pressure dropping to redline.
Now fuel pressure is more stable, so more fuel delivered = pig rich. Rrewired pump, new battery, bigger alternator.

Duty cycle went from 88% to 82% after I leaned it out

You're running ID1000's? So, in short, ~425 hp is about as far as you're going to get on e85 and ID's and still being in the 'linear' range?

Guess I'll have to bug the MS guys to add long-pulsewidth compensation for people who want to get the last 10% out of them.
