I don't recall him ever suggesting anything smaller than Borgwarner s366

its kind of true actually.
google voice is glory for pulling out old-*** text message conversations.
Me: thinking of getting that EFR6258 setup 6:45 PM
Me: it'll be cheaper in the long run and it's super-baller 6:45 PM
Me: but it will be held back by my trans 6:46 PM
Faeflora: It looks nice 6:46 PM
Me: basically, right now, i'm convincing myself that it's a good deal and I should buy it. and typing to you pretending it's a conversation. 6:50 PM
Faeflora: Ha ha 6:50 PM
Faeflora: Link to setup 6:50 PM
Faeflora: ? 6:50 PM
Me: wittyworks. 6:51 PM
Me: you saw it, commented on it, etc 6:51 PM
Faeflora: Mmmmmmmehhhh 6:56 PM
Faeflora: I think meh 6:56 PM
Me: why? not powerful enough? 6:57 PM
Me: > dat spool 6:57 PM
Faeflora: I say try that borg u bought and have artech make you a sick twinscroll manifold 6:57 PM
Faeflora: And downpipe 6:57 PM
Faeflora: I think with the other thrbo power under tge curve will be similar and a equal twinscroll mani will spool as well AND have better top end 6:58 PM (Note: other turbo is a Borg Warner S246)

see if it was me, id just clamp some silicone where it hits and be done with it.... oh wait.

I'll listen to Fae when he actually proves he knows what he's doing, so far ive seen him at the dyno 5-6 times now and not impress me much.

I saw 3 people huddle around Lars's car on Ed's dyno with **** results, your point?
I'll be tuning my car myself, I just take Fae's advice as a guideline.

I already tried silicone there and it lasts like 3 miles. To me its in the same category of "fixes" as jb-welding things. No thanks.

Yah whtever. Frankly vlad, your subie tune was pathetic. Timing, throttle, scaling etc. I do appreciate you sharing, but when it still sucked.

It was also pathetic that you had a big ol gt30 and only made 300hp. On cheater e85. I made 400hp on pump my very first car build ever and this is how many builds for you? So suck it.

Congratulations on trolling me, you win. Your constant baiting is annoying and ignorant.

His timing up top is 4-5* off what i ran on the street with my gt30 and no knock. I didnt just cavallierly send my friend some risky map. Anyways, he should indeed be able to squeeze out more power towards redline. Pretty much more power everywhere. Safely.

Tuning is not even hard at all, assuming you have a knock sensor and log and watch your afrs. Gimme a break. Also stop havig double standards about retardism. It is lame considering your own damn avatar finds humor in retardation.

I think that everyone has a mix of good and bad advice.

No, you havent. Me trying to start my car with a jumped timing belt does not equal tuning. Also. There is a reason why i have not blown up my motor. I actually learned how to tune meticulously from JayL. I also learned a lot from Phil at Element Tuning. When I tune power I look at every log after every pull. And have my real time knock readout up. And a knocklite. And a rolling log of my afrs.

fixed the muffler issue by ghetto-fabricating a 'clip' thing to prevent the muffler hangers from sliding (poly hangers are smooth and hanger thingys slide with ease).

raised boost by ~2psi. still no knock. was able to spin wheels in 3rd, though. these are 7 month old 205/50/15 star specs, lol.

today vs yesterday.

I have a strange issue where boost drops off from 6000 to 7100 or so and just before redline it comes back to normal. You can see above that turbine speed doesn't change at all - completely flat (sensor01)!

Might just be hitting a weird part of the compressor map or something. Looks like when you upped the boost the dip got wider.

Went to strip for first time in my life, ran about 5-6 times. Best run was a 12.715 @ 115mph and 2.065 60ft. NT-01 are a lot better than expected and the grip available at the strip is insane! I got my best time by launching in 1st @ 3500 rpm. Launching in 2nd would stall the car (vs spinning wheels on street). I could definitely improve on the launch because car would bog to 2k rpm....

And shifting. Looking at the log my shifts were all 4-500ms WOT-to-WOT. So I spent 1.5-2 seconds outside of WOT just shifting....

2 failures - fat wire that goes to alternator came loose and the coolant reroute pipe almost slipped leaking coolant. Tightened the alternator nut and going to order a real coolant pipe with rolled bead.

nope, was too pre-occupied.

300whp sounds good!
Because of the boost drop from 6000-7000rpm effective boost was only 17psi vs 20psi everywhere else in the rpm. I'm going to dyno at like, 25psi.

awww you deleted posts :(

anyways I'm going to try to tune closed loop EBC tonight. Open loop is just way, way too simplistic.
