Default Kiwi dude slowly builds a pointless unusable moneypit

So after 4+ years of owning this thing I guess it's finally time to make a wee build thread. Been hiding this away from most of the world.

So here we go.

Beware, lots of pictures.

The early days.

How I bought the car. Standard as

Got myself some ****

Looked like this for about 2 years

The first change up.

Finally got pink stickered (ordered off the road for illegal mods.. When this happens you either have to revert your car to factory or get your modifications certified for road use. Stupid New Zealand laws.)

Had to buy myself a new daily. Fun times in that wee Honda City

Decided to change things up before getting the car certified.
NUE overfenders were released, pretty sure I was one of the first to ever order these

Panel beater misunderstood and moulded them in... Really hated this but still rocked them for about a year just because of laziness

Did a skid

Turbo time!

Because I was getting the car certified anyway, pretty much decided I'd boost the thing.

Broke kid ideas, bought stupid Chinese ****

First day ever driving it turbo

Fixed the clutch with this beastly setup. 1.8 flywheel, custom pressure plate rated to 2000lb and a full face carbon kevlar clutch plate

Did a bit of a wire tuck

Drove it round still pink stickered for a few weeks until Chinese **** did what Chinese **** do

Replaced the Chinese **** with a Greddy manifold and a saab t25. Also got the thing road legal again!

Drove it around for a couple weeks until this happened...

Seam weld it all

Painting time.

Reunited!

All nylon branded line, black AN fittings

Entered a car show just as a project

And then it sat like this. Motivation was pretty much non existent.

Link G4+ Storm engine management

EZ wire wiring harness. Decided to bin all factory wiring and completely rewire and simplify

Interior goodies

Also imported these SSR Professor SP1s last year. Finally got around to making use of them

Before 16x8 +20

Tidy up. White with sparkles

After. 16x10.25 -6

And then I lost motivation again. Started stripping it out to rewire and left it for another month or 2. Also testfit wheels.

Which finally brings us to present day. Has been off the road for 2 and a half years.

Currently a wiring mess.

Not even needing much to run.
The list to finish it:

K20A COPs and bracket
Measure and order lifter shims
VTPS
Exhaust
Modify intercooler piping
Finish wiring
Tune.

That's it. But I work slow

Hopefully it'll be running in the next few months if I dont lose motivation again

Haha hopefully I don't. Restarted my wiring again decided to move the fuse box to the boot. Makes for a bit more work extending wires but will be worth it in the long run.

I'm from Christchurch

What do you think about that EZ2wire harness? Which one did you buy, specifically? I have another project that needs a full new body harness that i'm not looking forward to doing.

You just cutting the pigtails at the lights and splicing in, keeping all original plugs?

I've always wondered if Honda K COPs would fit, I even sort of test fit one a long time ago.

Has this been done before?

I quite like it, seems easy as to use. Everything is labeled nicely. Pretty much all you have to do is hook it up to your plugs and you're done.
I'm pretty much doing new everything. I figure while I have everything apart there's not much point in putting the old 25+ year old wiring back in. I'll depin and just buy new pins and reuse the connectors where I can. This way I only need to put back in what I need and can simplify a lot of it.

I'm using the EZ Wiring 21 circuit kit because it has power windows, power door locks(which I might put in at some stage), radio and a few other things the smaller kits are missing. A lot if not all the engine stuff I will be pulling out of it as my ECU will run all that.

Yeah they fit quite nicely, you just need to make up a bracket for them. This is K20A coils on a mates car
