I'm sub'ed.... I want to see how those Keisler drop spindles work out with the Xida Ace system, and at full drop, how much tire clearance you have for the 225's
I'm not aware of anyone else using the Keisler/Ace combo.

SJMarcy has been running drop spindles/Xida ACE for a while now. He posts here occasionally but mostly on Miata.net

You mean the same SJMarcy that is universally hated across the entire internet and has complaints of being a scammer dating back to the late 90s in chat rooms? I could have sworn he got banned from here.

I know this is probably a stretch but is the plan for Taxi II to be done for WRLS? Equally intrigued to see the Ace/Keisler combo, even if it's only for science.

This was key. We want to use this as an actual street car, drive it home on weekends and stuff.

If an NB2 can look sporty with a bit of elegance and restraint, that is what we were going for. Like Dan wrote, I wanted to get away from the brawling track specific builds we have always done. We'll see how it turns out. Buttercup was a green '01 SE we put together a few years ago for a JR Rotrex kit that never materialized. Very clean, full stock interior, BGK, 15x10's with 245 VR1-'s. That car rode really well but just had a stock engine so with all the weight and no power it was a bit boring to drive. It was however, very comfy even on 800/500 springs. We sold that car as is to a norcal guy who runs it in STR. That gave us the idea for this car. Replicate, or even improve upon that ride quality and civility while adding another 50whp then spice it a bit with the wrap.

It's rather ironic that as a "Miata guy" my daily is the GT350 because I don't actually have an appropriate Miata to drive home.

Buttercup is very high up in the looks department at least in my eyes. Aggressive but subtle at the same time; the exact opposite of riced. As far as the GT350 goes, I would not really mind DDing one instead of my NB2 for sure!

The wrap turned out amazing, love the understated look and the direction you are taking this car. Can't wait to see this in action.

Default Help needed at Supermiata

On a related note, we're running out of time to get Taxi and Vegas ready for Miatas @ Laguna Seca in a few weeks. We need help swapping the drivetrain from the old tub to the new one plus some other tasks.
Compensation is in store credits and/or seat time in the finished car. email us info@949racing.com if you are available. We will also be working some on weekends until that event.

A pic of Buttercup with 245's

Progress happened today.

Cars shuffled around. John wrenching on Vegas, on the two post. Taxi2 in on the four post. Snoopy in to give up its ACEs, urethane bushed Control arms and fresh hubs/bearings.

Taxi is close. Engine, 6spd and 4.3 OsGiken are in.

Tonight we’ll try to finish the manifolds, oil cooler, radiator and fluids.

We shielded the trans tunnel all the way back to the hand brake pocket. This is slightly farther than we go in the racecars, in an effort to make this thing comfortable on long drives to the track.
1.8 sized Supermiata Sport clutch and flywheel used. We don't necesarilly need the extra torque capacity over the 1.6 units, but the 1.8 being slightly heavier/more mass, is less buzzy, and damps a bit more of the trans/diff's NVH.

Color matched, wrapped Hard Dog M2 Sport bar. For now, we've deleted the softtop. If we decide to throw a glass window top back in, the Sport is the way to go.

Supermiata Big Grip Kit, 900/500 Xida, RB front bar, SPM rear bar, SPM links, Urethane bushings, ELBJs

No pic, but the Stoptech 11" front brake kit was also re-purposed to Taxi, as the S1 racecars use 11.75" Wilwood setups.

For the first time ever, I noticed how much heats is coming up past the e-brake lever where there is no insulation from the factory. So we extended the normal tunnel heat shields we build further rearward. Really want this car to be comfy on the highway. The 4.3 gear won't help but the motor is balanced. So we'll see how it does highway cruising.

Where are the gauges Dan?
