Finally got rid of the factory SE rear muffler, replaced with a Magnaflow 12286 which is surprisingly quiet:



Koyo Hyper V radiator is in, and the pipes are now powdercoated:



Added relief cuts to the flange on the head and coated in something with less bling:



I've been driving this car to work for the last week and everything seems to behave itself.

Plan from now on is less fiddling, more driving.

I see you too ran into the tbolt clamp not really working with the efr compressor outlet and having to go with a worm drive clamp.

Yep, I've blown off the ones on the throttle body a couple of times too, I think they'll be getting the same treatment!

I guess I should get this thing tuned. Even running the ultra-conservative MSM tune and on wastegate pressure it's still mental.

This has been a decision a long time in the making but I decided to sell the car, it will be missed but I've had a blast over the years and met lots of awesome people in MX-5 circles.

Here are a few pics and the final spec:








Engine overhaul done July 2014:

Engine removed from a 2004 SE, which was then rebuilt by Automotive Plus:
Rebuilt head with new valve stem seals, valve reseat & pressure test
Block machined 1mm over
CP forged pistons
Eagle H beam rods
ACL bearings
New water pump
Uprated oil pump
All new bearings, seals, gaskets and hoses
ARP fasteners
Brand new genuine harmonic balancer
Rotating assembly balanced (all components separately then together)

Other modifications (not an exhaustive list):

Borg Warner EFR 6258 turbo
Custom stainless steampipe manifold
3" dump pipe transitioning to a 2.5" exhaust with 200 cell steel cat and Magnaflow rear muffler
All water/oil lines Speedflow with fireproof braid
Injector Dynamics ID725 injectors
Turbosmart FPR2000 fuel pressure regulator
DeatschWerks DW300 fuel pump
Adaptronic Select standalone ECU
Innovate Motorsports MTX-L wideband
Innovate Motorsports SSI-4 sensor module
Innovate Motorsports TC-4 EGT module
Adaptronic Bluetooth module
Toyota COP coil conversion
Protege 36-1 crank trigger wheel
Automotive Plus tallboy rollbar
Koyo Hyper-V (new 2015 model) alloy radiator w/ducting
Flyin' Miata oil cooler kit (Setrab)
Automotive Plus braided clutch line
Automotive Plus front numberplate bracket
TODA lightweight flywheel
Direct Clutch clutch
3.9 TorSen LSD diff
Whiteline swaybars
Flyin' Miata swaybar mounts
949 endlinks
BC coilovers
15x8 6UL wheels
Oil pressure, boost pressure and oil temp gauges fitted to center console (all have warning functions)
Skunk2 shifter
Stainless steel vent rings
Mazda chrome sill protectors
Alarm with auto closing windows and proximity sensor
Braided brake lines
Alpine headunit

I've been looking at an E92 335i or something along those lines. I'm not going to rush into anything though, taking a break from cars for a while!
