You have to be a speed perks member, but yes the code should work perfectly for the majority of items as long as your order is over $100. TRT30 is 30% off your online order if over $100, depending on how much you are spending it can be cheaper to go with that code. But yeah I use those codes all the time to order online from Advance and then pick up in store half and hour later.

Its all about the brand new 1 piece ABS axles. For $60 each. Shipped to your door.

Speedperks reg seems to be broken right now. I can't verify. Get a stupid warning message. And no report a problem button.

I'm rocking my 12576. Same body, 2.5". Best thing I ever bought for my car.

18psi 11-18-2016 12:39 PM

I luuuuub G's exhaust
everyone should have one

icantlearn 11-18-2016 12:44 PM

In terms of midpipes, im leaning towards going with the Enthuza 3" because it's nothing special. And I don't need anything special. Thoughts?

Also, how quiet is this huge ass muffler? Like stock quiet? In looking for a nice deep tone but not obnoxiously loud. I want "classy".

18psi 11-18-2016 01:02 PM

Have you even searched the threads where we discussed this to death?

It sounds really good. You want it. Your car wants it. Your mom wants it. Everyone wants it.

psyber_0ptix 11-18-2016 01:03 PM

I have the MTnet approved muffler on my car, completely catless and it's QUIET on the outside. Inside is still horrifically loud though. SO LOUD. But that's my own fault because I have urethane hangers because I didn't want exhaust to bang around everywhere.

Chiburbian 11-18-2016 01:23 PM

I have the MT.net approved muffler as well. Based on what you describe as your goals it's what you want. Deep and bass-ey but otherwise completely unassuming. I have had my car idling and you hear the engine more than the exhaust. My FANS are louder than my exhaust.

Not my carr:

I even added added a resonator and it still wasn't quiet enough. The big manglaflow is amazing, now the car is basically 100% stealth.

Just as an FYI, the FM exhaust is not loud at all. My car has no problems meeting 90 db sound days at Laguna, and multiple people have commented that it's one of the quieter cars during Miatas@MRLS.

It's not cheap, but it's beautifully made and sounds good. It may not bolt up to the TSE downpipe, though.

I found rubber hangers with hose clamps around them holds it well and dampens a bit more vibration.

I know, right? Its seriously my favorite part of the whole build. Now if I could just get the turbo noises to chill the fuck out so I don't end up in prison...

Call up Enthuza and see if he'll build you a 3" system with a big dog Magnaflow. I'm surprised he does not have a "If you came from Miataturbo, click here for 3" winning" button on his site yet TBH. Unless you send the manifold, turbo and downpipe to whomever is doing your exhaust then prepare to do a little bit of fab work to get them to mate up.

This is hard to quantify without hearing it in person. What you call "classy" I might call a war crime. I was the obnoxious metallic orange NB if you have video of me being slow, you might have some exhaust clips somewhere.

Stock rubber hangers, stainless worm drive clamps and zip ties over here. Clamps keep the hangers from sagging and zip ties keep me from having the clamps end up as track debris. We added one non stock hanger location under my car but that's it, its buried somewhere in my build thread.

psyber_0ptix 11-18-2016 02:36 PM

I once tried rubber with worm gear clamps. One would fall off the hanger all the time from side ways wobble, but I didn't try zipties. Another just broke where the worm gear was clamped, likely to cyclic loading.

I'll try it again and maybe just keep one strategic placed urethane on the midpipe

aidandj 11-18-2016 02:45 PM

Odd. Ive got like 10 track days and 5-10k miles on mine. No issues.

codrus 11-18-2016 02:47 PM

What's the rationale for putting hose clamps on the hangers? I just have the stock hangers on mine and it's fine?

I wonder if I had the cheap ass tin foil worm gear clamps. I'll invest in some stainless ones and try again. with zip ties (or those fancy metal heat wrap ties I have laying around)

EO2K 11-18-2016 02:59 PM

I just used beefy plastic zip ties and they've held up fine, but I'm sure the stainless zip ties would work.

Andrew said that the Enthuza did not fit well on his car. So this has made me a little weary.

I only have 1 clip of me passing you and you can't hear squat over the wind noise and the turbo. Just send me a video from your car :)

More details, please. What makes the hanger sag? Turbo exhausts aren't significantly heavier than stock exhausts (actually I think mine is lighter than stock), so what's the need to beef up the hangers?

--Ian

psyber_0ptix 11-18-2016 04:07 PM

I think it's just fatter aftermarket pipes smacking around if you have things in the way. Exhaust wiggle can be mitigated restricting the stretch and travel of hangers as they wobble.

icantlearn 11-18-2016 04:26 PM

Cant you just get beefier hangers and be done with it?

aidandj 11-18-2016 04:29 PM

Cost of poly hangers: expensive
Cost of honda hangers on rockauto + hose clamps: pennies

Thats a tough choice.

And stock exhausts are smaller, have more room around them. My 3" pipe has tight clearances and was built by me. So its not exactly....perfect.

Tight hangers keep it in place.

Also, ive seen stock exhausts fall off miatas in the past.

icantlearn 11-18-2016 04:32 PM

Can you take a pic of your hangar and post it here? I wanna see it...

Also, iirc you don't have the big ass muffler right?

Huh. Well, FWIW the only time my FM exhausts (old 2.5", current 3") ever banged on anything was when I put them on wrong, and that was with stock hangers. I did not make them myself though. :)

I have no idea how a stock exhaust falls off, it takes me 10 minutes of cursing to get it come off when I want it to. Rust, maybe. :)

My god yes.

I wear earplugs if the windows are down and im driving next to a freeway barrier.

The noise really puts hailey to sleep though, so it works out ok.

@turbofan describe my exhaust please.

icantlearn 11-18-2016 05:23 PM

Heh, there goes that idea. On a serious note tho, that is what im looking for tone and sound level wise. I don't want it stock quiet. But I don't want open downpipe ears bleeding loud. So maby the Enthuza would be a good fit... And if I don't like it, I can weld in the big ass muffler.

This makes the most sense to me unless I can find a local to hear their exhaust.

codrus 11-18-2016 05:27 PM

Come listen to my car some time. :) It's definitely louder than stock, but not obnoxious.

--Ian

18psi 11-18-2016 05:35 PM

here's how they stack up on level of quieter, louder, loudest:
1) mt Maggie 2) fm 3) enthuza

Oh and catalytic converter makes a BIG difference in each situation as well

18psi 11-18-2016 05:53 PM

I don't think so, at best they are about equal (IMO)
When you put the hammer down in his, the turbo is also basically all you hear.

My MSM FM exhaust was definitely louder than his setup, but then mine wasn't catted so not apples/apples.

icantlearn 11-18-2016 09:31 PM

I definitely want a catted system. I am going to see how much it will cost to custom fab up something at a local track shop (Trackspec).

aidandj 11-18-2016 09:35 PM

You and your silly cats. Spark cut is too much fun.

I think I became immune to fumes a long time ago. I just get happy.

aidandj 11-19-2016 12:52 PM

Dat 1.6 lyfe tho

icantlearn 11-29-2016 11:59 AM

After MMRLS I wanted some downforce. I had my eye on the blackbird wing but I just couldn't justify the $300 for one. After some thinking I dicided that I could make my own for a fraction of the cost. $30 later I ended up with this...
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...0b9708be91.jpg
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...fd1f149b1c.jpg
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...3253b6d68f.jpg

The downforce it produces is incredible. The car is so much more planted on high speed turns. I can definitely feel the front is lighter so I may have to reduce the angle. And I know its rough around the edges right now but I'll smooth it out eventually.
