Default Turbo something!!!!!!!

So i thought some of you guys might like to see the turbo build im doing on my jeep. Now i know its not a miata but still its turbo.

So here is the life story that goes along with this jeep.....

So i got my 95 YJ back in 07 from a customer when happen to blow his motor as he was pulling in my repair shop. After telling the customer it was the motor and that he would need a new one he handed me the title for the jeep. So i got a new motor for it along with a new trans, clutch, brakes, and tires. So a year and a half later i meet my now fiancee and one night as she was driving the jeep she lost control of it and landed it into the woods off the highway.
Once i got the jeep back to my shop i saw the real damage to it and say it is totaled. Here are pics the day i got it back to my shop.

So this past summer i found a deal on a yj that had a bad frame but a body that was useable for $700 bucks.

I didnt take any pics of the body swap to the old frame but this is what it looked like 5 days after i finished everything.

This is when i had just a 3" body lift and no suspension lift on 33s.

Here are the most recent pics of the new bed liner paint job and 4" suspension lift giving me a total of 7".

Now for the turbo stuff

So here is my spare motor on a stand with what i have so far with piping and what not.

Here is a quick drawing to show what im doing for the turbo inlet.

The spare motor that is going to be getting torn down once i finish the piping and brackets for the turbo. I plan on getting forged connecting rods and pistons along with 505 performance race head for the 2.5l. Once that motor is finished i will be seeing what it takes to blow the stock 2.5l up on the dyno.

Also here is a list of everything i have done
I did a 3inch body lift with new energy suspension body mounts
new battery
new alternator
new water pump
new belt
new spark plugs
new ignition cap and rotor
new spark plug wires
new fuel filter
new steering gear box
new engine mount that lift the engine 1 inch higher
new engine mount brackets to replace the weak aluminum ones
all brake lines replace
upgraded 3/4 ton f350 master cylinder
upgraded ZJ prop valve
new goodyear wrangler duratrach 33x12.5-15r tires
new calipers in the front
new brake pads
new rotors
new radiator
clutch fan deleted and replaced with an electric fan with temp control
4.0L big throttle body swap
new pro comp shocks front and back
new pro comp steering stabilizer
rough country 4 inch suspension lift
upgraded rear diff with a ford 8.8 that also added rear disk from the factory drum brakes
2 unity spotlights AKA police spot lights
custom aluminum bumper
20 gallon gas tank mod
custom exhaust uses Mercedes Benz s500 cat and Volvo c30 res

That's pretty wild man! I have a 1950 ****** CJ-3A and it has the original flathead 134ci 4 cylinder. I'd really like to convert it to multi port FI and megasquirt it.
However, I found that the Mercedez OM617 turbo diesel from the early 80's 300D wagon's is a better swap. I have no idea what I want to do. Diesel conversion? or MS the flatty?
It is stock suspension, w/ 32x11.5 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM's on 15x8 FORD wagon wheels. Original T-90 3 speed and 5:38 gears.

DIYautotune says it can be done easier with a Chevy throttle body injection, but I'd rather have it setup more like a Miata. The question is, what makes more sense? Fuel mileage and more power than I need with the TDI? Or cool factor cause it's a megasquirted flathead, but still only makes 70hp and gets single digit mpg's.

Nice man it hard to find a nice ******, as for engine swap there is a guy that sells kits to install the OM617 engine with factory jeep trans and t case. They also get 30mpg in the jeep wrangler. If i didnt have to do emissions testing on my jeep i would have done a 4BT cummins.

That poor BorgWarner is gonna look silly with all the burned on mud So subscribing to this thread!

My YJ was a I6, I had no idea there was that much space between the front of the 2.5 and the radiator... It was asking for it, did you see how it was dressed?!

There is sooo much room in the bay with a 2.5L. I've got a 99 4.0 TJ and its much tighter. Looks to be a good build. If your runnin the AX15, it will be a weak link.

What do you plan to do with this turbo jeep? Turbo seems too unpredictable for rock crawling, but I've never done it so I don't know. At the least it should surprise some people at stoplights.

Off road i don't have much of a power problem its going down the highway that i need it for. The jeep is great around town and off road but the highway just sucks. Its not that the engine doesn't have the power to move the weight it just doesn't have the power to over come the fact that its a brick into the wind. So im just hoping to get a few extra ponies and foot pounds to help keep me out of 3rd gear at 3,000-4,000rpm.

Interesting... A2W core DOES look like it would fit between the turbo and intake. Also, is that an electric engine water pump? It looks like something off a smallblock chevy.

Nice progress, props for doing something different.
