Default Rob's soon to be turboed 92.

I have a smurf blue 92 miata. Bought it about 6 months ago. No power steering, took out the A/C. 154,xxx miles. Had ugly chrome wheels that were in baaaaad shape, and an ugly exhaust tip that I had to sawzall off there. Dash is in bad shape but I'm planning on getting a new one when I find the right one.

I'm doing this on a budget, so please don't clown.

Have's:
Buick turbo(may or may not use)
Mazdaspeed Miata IC

Want's:
Injectors
MS
Garrett 2560r
6ul's
Enthuza(hope its not too loud)
probably a taco taco mani unless anyone has any suggestions.
Torsen or OS giken eventually.
Tien coilovers
a bunch of chassis bracing.
harddog rollbar
lotus seats

I'm going to try and make a lot out of nothing, like my dad is a paint and body guy, so that helps out. Got the turbo for free. You know, super budget crap.

Yay smurfs! I think you're the first person to unbolt the water neck at the back instead of removing the hose when removing the head. Extra points for the excessiveness of the vice grips.

Yay smurfs x2! Not enough of them around imho. But what color you going to?

Good luck with the budget build. I've got less than $1500 in mine thus far (not including the car) and I'm pretty sure it's going to be reliable haha. Biggest questionable item on mine is the fleabay manifold, but if you are going with a cast one it'll probably be OK. Only thing I see in your build that will blow out the "budget" aspect is Lotus seats...never seen a cheap set of those!

Thanks man. It's going either gray or that deep graphite brown color. Black stripe over the front wheel well. Bronze powdercoated 6uls. I have to have the lotus seats they're a beautiful piece of engineering. It's gonna be a long time before I get those.

Okay, sorry to resurrect such a crappy build thread but I couldnt help myself.

[IMG][/IMG]

I've gotten tien basics, 7/6kg. Racing Beat tubular bar in front. 15x7 bronze 6uls with some NeoGens, only because they have a higher treadwear rating.

I rebuilt my engine at the end of last year and it runs great. Been meaning to test the compression but havent had time.

At the moment its in pieces, getting ready to be painted.

Thanks guys. I was worried about the bronze wheels with the color as well and decided it would either look really bad or really good, so I took a chance.

I also added the Mazdaspeed sized brakes on there too, cut the rear bumper and added the R-package front lip.

Now that I'm done with the aesthetics I can start with performance stuff again.

That was my plan all along, Curly. There was just way too much blue on that car for my taste.
