This car is quite(relatively) heavy, and has a small NA solid front bar. It rides amazing. 900/500 was always my ideal spring rate for a dual duty car like this, I built that set of xidas 2 years before they were installed on this car.
The new owner only had previous experience with BCs and Feals, and was extremely complimentary of the ride quality. Hopefully he registers soon and can speak for himself. Interior noise levels are elevated due to the lightweight flywheel and a whine from the diff. Oddly, RE71R might be quieter than ECS, but are way more likely to tramline and much more harsh. VR1 and NT01 are two of the loudest tires I’ve ever street driven on. |
As mentioned elsewhere, Xidas ride like butter with with nearly double the spring rate. The previous suspension was 500/300 diy billies with extended mounts all around. 900/500 Xidas were a major ride quality upgrade regardless of tire.
When a set of 40-200tw get thrown on for fun, turn the knobs and rock out. |
Never posted this here, it’s a shiny one.

Hot.
Exhaust drone nonexistent? (Yes i'm still fighting the world's loudest RB exhaust, and noticed you had the RS Midpipe in lieu of the RB midpipe. ) |
Was enjoyable following this build. Reason for selling?

More intake noise than exhaust on the cars we have built with that combo. Removing rear carpet, trunk carpet or OEM sound deadening also a major factor. |

If the muffler is really old, you might have blown out all the packing. Its fiberglass, or something like it. Hard to tell when they're blown out because it take like a decade and externally they look fine.

Been musing trying a Roadstersport midpipe, but the idea of throwing hundreds around without a clear path feels bad. |

It's not. I bought it from you (Not that you have anything to do with the problem at hand :P) and have only managed to bear putting about 1000 miles on it because it's unholy loud. Full interior car in every way.

RB midpipe is resonated.

Button: RB everything, no cat, but resonated mid as you know. I've had both the normal Powerpulse and the new Powerpulse Race. Both are tame enough for the street, IMO. In car videos posted on the youtube.
Turtle: RB header, RS mid w/cat, normal RB powerpulse. Relatively quiet, barely audible in my lap videos compared to Button. Got to hear it from outside the car for the first time when New Owner drove off, its awesome. I don't know what or why your shits loud and lame, but I definitely recommend throwing money at the problem by buying a RS midpipe from Tarmac 88. |

Second: I need Tarmac 88 to appear as though it is not a miata-specific shop for local setup/wrench work and marketing. |

Turtle and the green NB2 Emilio had that was the Maxxis bigmeat poster boi are both the only NB2s that made me turgid to date. |
Hello hello!! yes it's me, the new owner! finally had time (and remembered lol) to register and continue the thread
The car has been wonderful on the backroads of NC, whether I've been going to work or picking up groceries for me and the roommates https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Eqv9R_fX...jpg&name=large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Eq2LncjX...jpg&name=large |
