Default Twotone gets a turbo

Suh dudes i have a 1990 1.6 and its finally time to get the turbo installed lol not yet. I fried my stock clutch so once that gets replaced with the FM happy meal boost will happen. So far my kit includes t25 from and sr20, taco burrito cast manifold, custom down pipe, rx8 yellows, braineack ms, ebay intercooler pieces. My goal is 200whp but i don't want to put too much boost into my SNC 1.6 so ill take what ever 8-9 psi gives me.

Default Progress

urgently waiting on some more turbo parts all I got left are small things like clamps and hardware. While the turbo kit is being put together I turned my focus to some cosmetics. 3M cosmic blue and once the weather is nice I'll be doing the A pillar and hardtop gloss black

I am very curious of how you are going to put the t2 flange t25 on a t3 flanged tacotaco manifold.

Um, have you even looked in the engine bay yet? You do realize you are going to hit the frame rail with an adapter.

The 1.6 manifold puts the flange at a 45ish degree angle on top of the cylinder 2 runner. The spacer will put the turbo up above the shelf. I know a guy in my town that has the exact setup with zero fitment issues.

you're shooting yourself by making your already mediocre setup that much worse

Just go ahead and delete this thread. I went into this expecting to get some constructive criticism but now I'm getting completely insulted. I'll stick to browsing the classifieds

Go do some homework bud.

You're getting constructive criticism now but you refuse to accept it

Photos plase...

*I reread this quote again....

Guy in said town using a tacochalupachimmiechonga manifold and has a flange that is at a 45* angle and moves it in front of cyl 2? Sounds pretty ghetto...

change your tampon baby it will be ok.

It always amazes me how some will be men and take criticism, and others will break down even at the hint of disapproval.

You haven't even been criticized or insulted.....yet

trust me

I thought you had a 1.8. Yes the 1.6 tacotaco puts the turbo at an angle. Using an adapter plate is just adding more receipe for failure. You now have 2 surfaces that have to be completely flat to seal. Thats more places for studs and such to stretch and loosen and have leaks.

Buy a damn t3 turbo and use it like Deezum does.

If the budget allowed I would have gotten a FM or Begi manifold. I know that eBay turbos have a good rep on this forum but I'd rather have the reliability of a garret. I decided I'd rather have the failure point be the adapter plate than the turbo. Yes my jimmies have been rustled I'll admit it but I have a local that's willing to help me and his setup has proven to be budget friendly and reliable. Cheap fast reliable I chose cheap and reliable
