FWIW valves are cheaper to replace than rods...

6psi on the epitome of all turbos, the E F damn R? Surely rods will turn banana.

Ideally, nothing will explode

Aidan, our timing maps look really similar already, freakishly close. Lol

So my oil pressure gauge has never worked and I was installing some of turbo bits and saw the sender was unplugged with no harness, but there is a single red/yellow wire that's coming out of the same harness the alternator uses. Is that my wire for the oil pressure sender?

I'm about 100% sure my oil feed line it hitting the hood and not letting it close all the way. I couldn't find the thread pitch on the EFR manual.

Want to find a 90 degree that'll come straight out the turbo to the 4an line to reduce the height of the line. Instead of the adapter included then a 90 degree on top of that.

Also less places to leak.

Other wise, why didn't anybody tell me a turbo miata is the most fun car that couldever built?

Thank you. Nearly just ordered m12x1.25 because of a bad source.

And yes! I'm surprised that I can make positive pressure at like ~2200rpm in 2nd/3rd gear. I'm chasing down a boost leak as it sounds like it is whistling under partial boost.

Okay, help me out. I keep hitting overboost (155kpa) once I reach like ~5000rpm or so in 1st or 2nd and maybe higher but I haven't been that fast. I have the preload set to like 1/8" which is real close to the 3mm BW says is the lowest.

Any reason why it keeps climbing with rpm?

Inb4, raise overboost to 300kpa

That's like a 7psi spring. With a 3psi spring I max at 150-160kpa. No way you will be under 155kpa with that.

Really? Ok. Sooo, raise the overboost to like 170kpa? I know 10psi won't blow the **** up. I hope 10psi won't blow **** up.

Wait, so I should get a new spring.

You can't replace springs in the stock wastegate

Well, not very easily anyway.

Yes, raise the boost limit a small amount.

Thank you for the guidance.

I need to update the cooling system. I have some ideas, have to finish up my ducting first. OEM splash pan (Had to buy a new one) fits real nicely to the bottom and side of the intercooler/radiator. But I want to seal the bumper to the bottom of the intercooler.

But I had a question of the top of the intercooler / radiator. I know I want to give the radiator the fresh air but my intercooler sits like a inch or two higher than the low point of the front crash support. So don't have the space to route it above the intercooler and into the radiator. Any suggestions or pictures of ways it has been done?

Or just seal off the top of the radiator to the bumper?

So I have fallen into the cycle of turbos miatas officially now. I'm in love.

So I got a data log of the overboost. I raised it all the way up to 185kpa and still hit that. Any help? Maybe my wastegate angles are off it slides pretty easily up and down on the rod, but it could be better by like 1mm or so.

Can anyone clarify the EFR settings of "turns" like turns from where?

I have a turbosmart single port if you're interested, just need to buy the 3psi spring.

I ran that on a stock motor for 1200miles.

The EFR preload is turns of the nut. I think full stroke on the low boost actuator is around 14.
