Default No it's not a miata - 2007 Honda Fit Sport GD3

In case anyone missed it, I sold my 1990 miata. Had it for 9 years and it was just time to move on. I was planning on selling it next year, but I was involved in a motorbike accident just over a month ago. The bike was a total loss, and my wife and I came to the determination that this isn't the right stage in my life to be on a motorbike. So I had a cheque for $5300 for my bike, and decided I'd accelerate my planned sale of the miata. Dropped my pants and sold it for $5500, and a few days later picked up a 2007 Honda Fit Sport in like new condition for $15,000. I plan on ordering the Kraftwerks Rotrex supercharger kit for it at the end of this month, but this is what it looked like after I bought it:

I actually really love this thing. Tons of space inside, it's new, amazing on gas, and very responsive. It's a 5 speed and the transmission is typical Honda - awesome. So three weeks later, and this is what it looks like:

I've installed Tein S-Tech springs, tanabe exhaust & strut bar, tinted the rear windows, and a Seibon CF mugen style front grille. The plans are a CF hood and new rims. I might put a different rear spoiler and rear skirt on, but haven't made up my mind yet.

I'll get back into miata's in the future and build some sort of auto cross track beast as a secondary vehicle.

Oh, my car also has VTEC!

Looks good, I've been trying to get my wife into one of these as a gas saver / kid hauler.

Do you prefer this gen or was it a since it came up kind of thing?

I prefer the GD3 generation for sure. They just look better to me and there's way more aftermarket since they've been sold since 2001 in the rest of the world. It's a well thought out/tested car.

I've always thought that would be a great daily if it had more power. I definitely would like to hear an update once you get it boosted.

Oh, and it needs RPF-1s

Well I'm putting the supercharger off for a year or so until my warranty is up. I've never had a car with warranty so I'm just enjoying the moment. I did however buy rims and a sweet carbon intake.

You know, corky said that voiding the warranty is ok. The chances of a car breaking down in that time period are slim, and you being a warranty **** is keeping you from enjoying FI goodness. You should just go ahead and boost it. If you don't find it, I will dig up max boost and quote you the line. Basically, If it is going to blow up, It would have blown up anyways.

Thread revive! I'm still rocking the Fit and have been racing it at autocross. I've installed various braces, etc and the rear Progress swaybar has made under steer a thing of the past. I also have the Kraftwerks rotrex kit on order, so hopefully it'll arrive in a few days

Oh snap, that's cool.
Very curious how much power it will make with the KW, got any sample dyno plots to look at?

I'm very set on one of these for the wife in the near future to replace her 22mpg TSX that we really don't need.

If you decide to go this route you will have to find a used KW kit. They are making the very last Honda Fit kit they will ever produce, so I was fortunate to get this one. I purchased their baseline kit which I believe runs 5psi. This is the dyno with stock exhaust:

I have a full catback exhaust, so I imagine my numbers will be better. The rotrex unit has a boost limiter on it which can be removed, and once you do that (plus injector upgrade and an intercooler) you get this:

They aren't huge numbers, but I would imagine a huge improvement over stock. I'm really looking forward to installing mine.

Kraftwerks supercharger kit is fully installed and working. After break in I was a bit disappointed with the acceleration, but it was a big increase over stock. It just felt like there was quite the lag to make power. Anyways last week the diverter valve died on me. They sent me a new one ASAP and after putting it in the car is totally insane. I'm guessing the valve was screwed from the beginning. It pulls very hard now. I'm hoping the local dyno shop runs a cheap dyno day soon so I can see what it's doing.

On another note, I have a brand new set of Tokico HTS/D-Spec adjustable shocks sitting in my basement. Tokico is running some crazy factory clear out, so instead of paying $1500 I got them for $450...
AUTOCROSS BEAST!!!!
That is all.

Very nice! I bought one of these for my ex a few years ago and it was a blast to drive. I remember the early stages of development for the KW kit, crazy to see it winding down now too. I remember buying it brand new for $15,600, crazy to hear how well they're holding value.
