Up for sale is my 1978 Fiat Spider 124. The 1978 Spider is a 1800cc 4 Cylinder of Lampredi design. The body was designed by Pininfarina (the F logo on the side of the car), also known for their Ferrari designs. You'll find this car is the embodiment of a classic and enjoyable Italian drivers car (the Fix It Again Tony aspects have been taken care of). Great extra bits of information to on the Wikipedia pages (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_124_Sport_Spider).

This is a great surviving example having avoided the rust so commonly a pitfall for cars of this era. For transparency, I have found ONE rust location on the car, a spot about the size of a silver dollar in the bottom front left of the passenger foot well. That's it. You are welcome to bring a magnet (plastic protected please) to check/confirm etc...

I have had the car for over two years now and the only reason I am selling it is that I found a different Fiat that I wanted more. With little time to enjoy the car for drives, adding another car to the driveway just made little sense.

This car has had much of it gone over while I've owned it. Work done as follows:
Timing belt and water pump at 52,000 miles (2k miles old)
Front seals all replaced (main/cams)
Radiator (refurbished oem) at 52,000
New Carburetor (Redline Weber 32/36) WITH spacer to optimize it (this is on top of the preferred stock intake manifold)
Front brakes rebuilt (fully disassembled calipers and new piston seals/gaskets), new pads/rotors.
New Koni Yellow shocks (with cut oem springs, without bumpers there is no real spring solution out there)
New tie rods, inner and outer.
Lifetime alignment at Firestone (non-transferable I believe, but stay in touch with me to get it in as needed)
New front lower splitter/lip/airdam
New headlights (brighter and incorporate the turn signals)
13x5 Panasport wheels (4x100 using adapters to convert car from 4x98)
Newer Falken all season tires (~2k miles)
Soft top is PERFECT (pictures)

Minus items (I will do my best to highlight anything I can think of):
Missing map pockets below door
Stereo plays static, never bothered to trouble shoot as driving with the top down needs no music
Paint is an old respray, looks excellent from a few feet but flaws can be found up close
Crack in vinyl on driver seat back (pictured)
Stitching in one rib of each seat base has come undone (pictured)

Optional items:
Hardtop (rare and uncommon, rear side windows are pop open style)
Older style chrome front and rear bumpers (would need to have mounts built to bolt them up)
New clutch cable in bag (didn't need it, but nice spare to have)

I am asking for $5600 for the car which I feel is fair considering the condition/work done (you never recoup on work done, i know) and the ready to go factor. At this time I am fairly firm, so please don't offer me a trade for an old rusted station wagon plus a $100... just cash at this time.

The 124 coupe was my first car!

Sorry man, seeing that pic, I couldn't help reminisce. Loved it.

Now I wonder if a forward thinking FIAT dealership might be interested in buying it to present alongside the Miata based FIAT 124...
