All:

I'm realizing that I've put my car on track twice since last year's superlap. I've enjoyed it, but simply don't get the opportunity to use it. I've got plenty of garage room for storage now, but I'm looking to go back to SoCal, and so space will be limited. Major pieces of the car have been rebuilt in the last couple track weekends (refreshed bottom end, rebuilt head, rebuilt Quaife gear box, new turbo, new header, new brake rotors, etc)

I had the car on the dyno last month to make sure everything was in running order then took it out to a NASA time trial weekend. Price includes a open trailer with wood loading surface. Its not a nice trailer, but is in solid working order and has electric brakes that have not been wired in. We can talk about meeting for delivery if necissary.

I'm open to discussion on price as there are some items I wouldn't mind keeping (like the data aquisition). This price is a fraction of the build cost. Lots of youtube vids of this car online.

Here is a collection of photos from when it was featured on Mazda's site:

http://mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayP...tunerProfile56

I'm not online often, so drop me an email if you're interested.

Damn! Thats a ton of cash, but I've always like this car! On another note, although there are tons of pictures floating around the web, you should post some more in this thread...

This car better go to a good home. I've really enjoyed watching this beast compete. Haha, I still have the magazine that featured this car getting built.

Good luck with the sale and best wishes.

thanks guys. I know it a big asking price. As I said, I am willing to talk about price with interested parties if it is going to a good home. There were no corners cut on the build of this car, and I believe you get what you pay for. With the exception of the trailer, I think everything on this car is the best available. If it doesn't sell, I'll mothball it for a while until I have time to play with it again. As for photos, there are a ton in the link I posted. The trans has the taller 5th gear which was recommended as the big power combo. Not really interested in parting it out now unless all the major components got spoken for.

This is the type of car I'd expect to see in the back of relevant magazines like GRM etc. Such an awesome and pioneering vehicle.

WTF, you are in Texas?! I though you were in Cali. I still have the SCC issues that focus on this build, too. GLWS, and hopefully it goes to a good home.

I've worked on this car and can attest to its build quality...its second to none. This car, like mine, only comes off the track for fuel.

I've also been behind it and god damn does that aero work.

It will truly bring a tear to my eye when it leaves Matt's garage; I wish I had taken more pics of it at the track back in Cali. This car is a legend and a bargain at that price. Hell, you can even get a skin for it on Forza

Edit: Those are all highway miles driven to and from the grocery store.

I've drooled over this car for years now. I still remember the build in SCC and have that issue.

Glws, +1 for advertising in the back in GRM etc though, might get more interest that way. This car needs a good home.

If I posted here and trackhq, and I posting in the wrong spots? or is my asking price unrealistic?

Try nasa forums and scca forums. I would also not rule out a huge part out. Its hard to find someone that wants your exact car, and is willing to pay that price for a miata.

Exactly. I don't think your price is unreasonable, it's just that most people are apprehensive to spend that much money, up front, on a Miata.

nice car man but the majority of us are to cheap, or already have our own cars. I hope it finds a real nice home though if had had cash to burn i would be thinking long and hard about it myself.

I just bought new brakes and a couple things for the car. was planning on repainting the cage, and re vinyling the car to make it fresh and doing a couple things to respark my interest in it. Naturally, I make these decisions and someone calls with interest in the car. that is the way it goes isn't it?
