1993 Turbo Miata - Clean, low-mileage, and sorted
Location:
Holly Springs, NC (30 minutes from central Raleigh) Overview: 1993 Miata Miata with original 1.6L engine and transmission ~92,000 original miles 3 owners - 99% unmodified before my ownership Clean title Just passed NC State inspection No rust Garage kept weekend fun car, very rarely sees rain Fully up-to-date maintenance MKturbo full turbo, intercooler, exhaust kit with catalytic converter MS2 built and tuned by me with in-car realtime telemetry display (details below) 100% sorted street car; track-capable with minimal work History: For a more detailed run-down of my history with this Miata, see here: https://www.miataturbo.net/build-thr...project-94832/ Purchased in 2013 with a recent re-spary which included 3 coats of clear done by the owner of a paint and body shop. The car was basically unmodified when I got it but was in need of some TLC. All major maintenance items were taken car of at that time including a full timing belt and water pump job including all front engine seals, plugs, wires, all fluids, new radiator, all new coolant hoses, and new drive belts. From there, I enjoyed the car on weekends only modifying it over time, eventually taking it to a few autocrosses and finally one HPDE track weekend at VIR. After the HPDE, I decided I wanted a more street-focused car. I built the car for more power slowly, starting with an MegaSquirt DIYPNP ECU, then adding flow force injectors, and finally adding Lars's MKturbo full kit which included the tubular manifold, T3 turbo, 3" exhaust with catalytic converter, intercooler kit, and custom made intake and heat shield. In the process of turbocharging, I made sure not to cut corners. Included with the install was extensive heat shielding, proper hose and wire routing, and safe, methodical tuning. After the turbo kit was installed and tuned on wastegate pressure, I added a new 949 sprung organic clutch and swapped the differential to a 4.1 ratio unit from a 1996. All fluids were changed with Amsoil/redline at that time. Once the clutch was broken in, an EBC solenoid kit was installed and the boost was increased to ~12 psi. Estimated power right now is around 200 WHP/ 180 WTQ on a safe and conservative tune. Reason for Selling: Family and life changes have kept me from driving this Miata more than once a month. It hurts me to see it sit in my garage and not be driven, so I am putting it out there for someone else to enjoy. I don't have to sell it and would be happy to keep it and drive it when I get the chance, but I know I just don't have to time to truly enjoy it like someone else would. Installed Parts: Engine:

I have enjoyed this car and occasionally drove it to it's full potential but I never abused it or beat on it. Conservative tuning allows for more boost and more timing in the future if more power is desired. If track work is your goal, a coolant re-route, inconel studs, bigger radiator and fresh tires are all you need. If you are looking for a fun street car, this Miata is ready to be enjoyed as-is.
