Category: Import

I have a 1998 Nissan Skyline for sale, in USA - Rhode Island.

Mileage: 60,000 km

Asking price is $32,000

I'd like to sell my black 1998 Nissan Skyline R34 GTT.

The Skyline runs perfect, zero issues. The GTT is a RB25det Neo which is a single turbo, RWD, 5 speed. It has about 60k miles. Just had the car professionally detailed. Paint is immaculate and extremely smooth. No dents either. Not one spec of rust or anything on the car either. This car also has Hicus steering.

This car currently does NOT have a state issued title but I do have the Japanese title so I can have the car titled (additional $3k) with the Japanese vin in any of the 50 states where you can then register and insure it.

Please PM/email ONLY if you have the money for the car. I am not looking to inform anyone on how to import Japanese vehicles either. NO TRADES.

So how does this work in the US? I know it's like 25 years old but aren't there DOT approval or does that also go out the window with 25 years? You just register it like a regular car at DMV and smog like regular?

Once it's titled yes it can be registered in any state. Just bring the paperwork to the DMV and register it.

It doesn't actually work that way in the states.

Whoever is interested needs to do their homework first regarding Nissan Skylines. Currently all R34's are not EPA or NHTSA exempt. Won't say anymore.

GLWS! I love R34's and I can't wait until I get to own one in Bayside Blue!

BoostedSmurf 01-21-2014 12:31 AM

This would be pretty awesome for a Canadian since we can get cars 15 years or older from anywhere registered pretty easily (in comparison to the states). The one thing we have going for us up here.

Would be 8k in Australia. Dam.

Yep, trying to register that car is a good way to for it to end up in the hands of the Feds on it's way to the crusher.

Or else OP would already have a US title for it.

Actually, yes it does. My business partner has had a Silvia S15 as his daily driver (which is for sale as well) for the past 2 years. It's titled, registered, inspected, and insured.

It is not illegal to have this car in the United States. This car has passed through customs and has been released with the proper import papers. This car is being sold as off-road use meaning without a us state issued title. Therefor only legal on private property such as a race track, trailered to car shows, etc. We can get the car a state issued title (With exact vin) which will then give you the ability to transfer the title to your state, register, insure, and in most states inspect without modification. This car is not federally legal, you are correct, so even though state and town police have no jurisdiction, Homeland security has the right to seize the car. This is a risk well known to most who consider purchasing this particular import. I'd be happy to put a serious buyer in touch with some past customers who have been driving their JDM imported cars in the states which were purchased through us without issue.

Get the fuck over the stupid props thing Dan. It is silly and naive. You remind me so friggin' much of Kurt.
