1999 Mazda Miata 5 Speed for Sale

For sale is my 1999 Mazda Miata with 125,xxx miles. My friend and I bought the car back in May/ June to become a dedicated track car. We never had the chance to track it, or even autocross it. When we bought it we had big plans, but it needed some unforeseen maintenance work. What did we do? First we replaced the clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, and upgraded to a stainless clutch line. After that, the car drove great! At the same time we also threw on the 5x Racing shifter rebuild with the upgraded bronze. Eventually we flushed out the coolant which resulted in a coolant leak. After the leak, we went ahead and replaced all of the coolant hoses, thermostat, and got a good radiator from Planet-Miata. Leak did not go away so it was towed to Torrington, CT where it has been stored in a garage since being driven occasionally (the leak has been fixed since then). However, before being driven, the timing belt, front main seal, cam seals, tensioners, water pump, and valve cover gasket were replaced. While everything was apart, it was wiper down, and cleaned as well as possible. I detail on the side, so the car is very clean and the entire interior went through a deep cleaning with a hot water extractor. The carpet was replaced with carpet from a 10AE miata. The steering wheel was replaced with one from a Protege, and the shifter boot was replaced with an alcantara boot with light blue stitching. The hood and trunk are aluminum on a Miata, and both had severe clear coat missing. So, the hood was replaced with an identical Blue mica hood in great condition.

Now for the negatives. The top has two small tears in it. One on each side of the car. The top does not close which would appear to be a matter of bad strikers either on the top or interior. It comes very close to catching but does not. The car is on OEM wheels, but they have brand new snow tires. Finally, the car has two rust spots. One on each side which are very very small!

Please feel free to contact me if and only if you are interested. Please do not contact me selling any services or anything other soliciting.

Finally, the car has a clean title and is registered in CT. However, when I bought the car in RI, they do not require a title for cars older then 2001. Therefore, I needed the registration from RI and a bill of sale that is not hand written. The bill of sale, needed to be on the CT form. However, I had absolutely no issues registering it (I was skeptical at first) and I have the previous registration, my registration, and the title from the previous owner. It is a three owner car. The first two were family members.

For the right price I will include an extra aluminum hood, and the OEM large tupperware kit.

Price is $2,750 or best offer. Please do NOT offer $1,000 because it will waste both of our time

This is a great car that runs and drives very well! Unfortunately I don't have room for the car or the time anymore. All reasonable offers are being considered.

Thanks

If you redo the shift boot using a crown royal bottle sheath, I will drive to CT and give you $1800 cash plus title transfer for this car, given that I can drive it back successfully to PA...and that you have no affiliation with “RidetheCliche”.
AND
I am not even shitting you up...totally serious.

It's okay, I can disown him. I'd love to see Todd in a running miata!
Come on up Todd-ski, I'll buy ya a beer.
