This was where we first started to see some knock on 93 octane so we stopped there. It still had plenty of fuel available and the LS2 coils were putting out more than enough spark. Probably could have seen some more but we had the knock limit set conservative and once it crossed 400whp I was happy. Some C16 or even 100 octane and 430-440 would be fine before the turbo would be running out of steam. Its a fun car to say the least, so far with the 4.3 rear it topped out a little over 150 mph due to the 8k redline. Now with the new tranny and 3.9 it should be capable of closer to 165-170. This car was built by some one we know at a race shop in Macon Ga. It is a completely insane car. The owner is my uncle . I am just trying to help him sell it. It is set up as a track car. I believe the dyno shows right at 420 hp. I have a spec list but can't figure out how to get it pasted over here from mx5atlanta.com. If someone could help me to get it over I would appreciate it. More pics to come. Attachment 197701Attachment 197702Attachment 197703Attachment 197704 |
Thanks I finally figured it out

I am new to all this forum stuff so Thank you very much for the help

IF this car is "as advertised", then it's a deal compared to building something like this. I know it's been on track, do you know how many times? what kind of events?

Actually this car has not been tracked since it was put together like this. It was SC'ed before and then a mild turbo install. In those setups it was run in some SCCA events , NASA events , and HPDE weekends. It has been driven some since this setup was done on the road and at the dyno. It only has about 1000 miles on the new setup. Very fresh setup for someone to go out and drive the hell out of it.

Thanks to everyone that helped get this listed. I will check regularly to answer questions. I am the owner. The car was purchased used in 2003 bone stock. I fell in love with it and it has always been one of my favorite cars of all times. My life has taken a different direction so this car is for sale. Originally I supercharged it for SCCA autocross events and added the necessary things to give it the capability of achieving fastest time of day which it did regularly in the XP classification. Not bragging but with the Evolution Driving schools plus countless autocrosses, I got pretty good. In May of 2007 I was introduced to HPDE events through NASA so the car was changed a good bit for better brakes and suspension and tires. In 2007, this car participated in at least 10 HPDE weekends with NASA, PCA Crown Region, Seat Time, and Chin Motorsports. Tracks it has visited include Roebling Road, Road Atlanta, Rockingham, Carolina Motorsports Park, and Barber Motorsports Park. Most of those events were run with a Jackson Racing M45 supercharger setup with TDR upgrades. It was also run quite a few times in HPDE events in 2008. In the summer of 2008 the motor was pulled and the turbo build was started. That not only involved machining and very expensive parts to the motor but the brakes, suspension, bracing, and a host of other modifications were made to accomodate the power and balance the build so that everything worked together as it should. Contrary to what Leeboat stated, the car has been run at Roebling Road in the fall of last year under it's present setup. That is the last time the car was on track. My son has been the primary driver of this car on track weekends. His creditials include being signed off to run in HPDE 4 for NASA events and he ran in the advanced groups with the other organizations that I previously listed. He gained his instructor status in this car a couple of years ago. The car has been off track one time and that was in the kink at CMP in 2007 while he was being instructed by a Spec Miata racer. No damage was done to the car other than the skid mark that appeared in his pants. The car is a missle and will easily pass ZO6 Corvettes down the straight at Roebling. I love this car but I over built it. Yes, it can be driven on the street but a full cage and a full halo race seat plus it's looks don't make it a very good street car. Plus it's too fast for the street. The A/C has been deleted due to the size of the radiator and the convertible top has been deleted due to the hard top being bolted on. The dash is intact but everything behind the seats has been deleted as have the interior side panels. The car will not pass emissions. The body is straight as an arrow and the paint is perfect. I know I have invested well over $30,000.00 in this car but I lost count a long time ago. The car is cleaned, serviced, and ready to go. It is in my garage in North Macon and I welcome all to come see it for themselves. To my knowledge, this car is a one of a kind. I am a perfectionist and I believe anyone who sees this car will appreciate the expense and lengths I have taken to make it the very best. I have more pictures should anyone want me to send to them. Simply PM me. I know I will never use this car again so it's sitting waiting on a new owner to enjoy it as much as I once did. I am negotiable to any reasonable offer. All I ask is please be fair when discussing the price. Thanks again for looking at this listing. I can promise that whoever buys this car, it will make them very happy.

Holy fucking shit. That is all. |
Still open to offers. Need it sold

I'll vouch for Tripper/CCR on the build of this car. It is amazing and Tripper is the perfect person to buy a modded car from. I wouldn't think twice to buy it from him if I were in the market.
Hey Tripper....I'll trade you for my '02 :D |
Sold the car tonight. Thanks to all for posting this listing.
