No drama, just waiting patiently to congratulate the new owner. Condolences? I think the 10AE will make for a short mourning period:) although, I'm sure there is some grief over the amount of time that you invested to get her where she is today.

I guess that would be me. :)

Just talked to Ben to get the details ironed out and it looks like I'll be heading down there next Friday to pick up his 91.

I'm stupidly excited.

Sotaku, did you pick the car up?

RotorNutFD3S 11-25-2008 08:58 AM

It's not Friday yet. :)

Or at least it hasn't been the right Friday. Heading down this Friday.

Brandon,
Do you want it running on wastegate or on EBC?
I was thinking it might be better to get used to the car on lower boost first... :dunno:

Suspension is on. I put the front FM bar on stiff and the rear FM bar on soft. It seems pretty neutral. Car sits a little higher than I thought it would, but it's much flatter than it used to be.

Dual exhaust is on. It runs nice and quiet. The parts store only had 1 good cat flange gasket. The other one they had was kind of crappy looking. I don't think it's leaking, but it's something to look for in the future.

The thermostat gasket was weeping a little, so I replaced it.

I need to get the hood on, but otherwise it's ready to go.

Hey sweet! All great to hear. Thanks again for all of the finishing touches on the car. Actually very glad to hear that it's sitting higher than expected after dealing with my saggy suspension.

Yeah probably good to keep it low esp for the trip back since it's hard to know what weather I'll hit (though it looked good last I checked!). As long as I know how to turn it back on I think low works perfect. :)

Btw, which Terminus works best for you? North Springs or Doraville. I was good until I saw there were two that were Northish. haha.

Thanks again!

All you have to do is hook the hose back up the EBC solenoid mounted on the driver's inner fender by the diagnostic box. Not much to it.

Doraville.

Since you have a MS already, I assume you already have a laptop?

sotaku 11-27-2008 12:14 AM

Excellent.

Yeah I have a big ole compaq I've been using, I suppose that'd be a good thing to be packing eh?

Fireindc 11-27-2008 03:33 PM

Congrats both of you guys. I'm jealous of both of Bens cars..

Car is with its new owner. I was very sad to watch it drive away knowing that it would not come back. I did not realize how attached to the car I am until today.
I took a few pictures of it after we packed in the spare parts, and a couple more if it driving into the distance, but I don't have the stomach to upload and look at them right now.

As I stood in my driveway and without an NA miata for the first time in 8 or 9 years, I could no longer see the car but could hear her. So I listened to her exhaust note. God, she sounds good. I heard Brandon rev to 3k and slip the clutch (he's got to get used to the ACT) to get it rolling. But then I heard him hammer the throttle through 3 gears and then I could hear her no more. She'll be well enjoyed.

Goodbye my friend

Best of luck to you Brandon

sotaku 11-28-2008 11:42 PM

Thanks man, and again I appreciate all of the hospitality today. I will enjoy her well.

Even as I'm still getting used to that ACT....(doh sorry about that slip) ;)

Now I'm in Bowling Green, KY for the night. With every pit stop I made on they way up here I looked very much forward to the ramp run that'd come soon after. It put a silly grin on my face every time... and that's on wastegate. 0_0 Ever since my brother got his Shelby GLH fourteen years ago I've been looking forward to having a bit of boost myself and today was that day for me and even better - it's a turbo miata.

Again, thank you for the wonderful car. I'll take good care.

I had a dream someone stole my miata. I woke up depressed. I know that feeling of seeing it go.
