Default 1996 Miata M Edition

I recently picked up this Miata for the turbo kit installed from the Schuster's. I am swapping all the turbo related parts over to my 95, so please do no ask for any of them. I am trying to decide what to do with '96. I am looking to sell it either as a roller or as a running car.

First off the details: 1996 with 136k on the odometer. M edition, so it comes with all the bells and whistles. Tan and black leather interior, premium sound system, power windows, power mirrors, power steering, cruise, ABS, and AC (and it blows cold). The right front fender needs to be replaced. The bumper and hood are repairable. There are some door dings, but the paint is probably a 7 out of 10. The interior shows some wear and tear, but I'd give it an 8 out of 10.

Option 1: Roller $2000 $2500 with a "banged up" hardtop or $3000 with a good hardtop. The roller comes with full interior, but no motor, no trans, no AC setup, no ABS (will install a manual brake setup), or no diff (an open diff can be installed for another $100). Perfect starting point for a LSX swap.

Option 2: Stock $4000 Running, stock, good hardtop. Basically the best I can get back to stock. This car used to be an automatic and apparently has check engine code on the stock ECU. Since I have not installed a stock ECU, I don't know the code. The short block has 20k on it and I will be refreshing the cylinder head while the motor is out to fix a leaking #2 exhaust valve. A Borla 2.25" dual exhaust will be installed.

Option 3: Stock w/ Link ECU $4500 This is just option 2 + Link ECU installed. The Link comes with the control and a Serial Link for connecting to a computer (No longer available new from what I've been told)

Option 4: Stock w/ Link ECU and I/H/E $5000 Option 3 with intake (brand unknown), header (brand unknown), and high flow cat (Flyin Miata) installed. Stock parts will be provided as well.

All prices are negotiable and any reasonable offer will be entertained. I am going to start pulling the turbo setup next weekend. At that point it would be ready to be picked up as a roller. If no one speaks up in the next week or so, I'm going to start putting it back to stock.

Please PM or email me at ISHRoadkill@hotmail.com.

Car is located in Smyrna/Murfreesboro, TN area.

If you want to go stock, I happen to have a stock 96 ECU from an automatic car if you are interested.

Cut all 3 options by $1000. That's what it would go for 'round my neck of the woods.

^^ pretty much exactly what I was thinking. $4K for a decent body/link/IHE sounds like a decent deal ll things considered, maybe even a little steep at that price. Would those options include the hardtop?

All options include a hardtop except the $2000 roller. That is why the pricing is a little higher. The soft top is still installed, but window is torn and has starting tearing the vinyl. I don't want to leave someone with a leaking soft top unless they choose it. I edited the original post to be more clear. Thanks. Pricing is flexible.

If you want to go stock, I happen to have a stock 96 ECU from an automatic car if you are interested.
Thanks, but I got two stock ECU's w/ the car. One for automatic and one for the manual (I assume).

Those are the correct wheels for a 96M

I have not seen any rust in the usual spots. I'll be under the car this weekend pulling the motor, so I'll check it more thoroughly. The car has lived its whole life in Nashville (best I can tell), so it has limited winter exposure.

This "banged up" hardtop was on a Miata that was in an accident with a semi (the driver of the Miata is alive and well). That is were the damage on the drivers side came from. The crack on the passenger side is from the top taking a tumble in the wind. Other than that the paint has some scuffs in it.

2k for a roller seems pretty damn expensive. I picked up a 94 R package for $1,200 that needed a new head .
