PRICE REDUCEED TO $9,000-2002 Miata, Red, Tan interior, Low miles, Beautiful, 248 wheel HP @ 12 psi. Car located near Beaumont, Texas.

I bought this car with 55k miles on it in 2009 for my wife. She loved it until I turbocharged it and it lost some of its stock mild manners. So I put it aside in my sop in 2010 and bought her a used BMW Z4 which she also loved. Two years ago, after on-and-off attempts to fine tune the Adaptronic ECU with little success, I took the car to BEGI in San Antonio (300 miles from my home) and had them remove the Adaptronic ECU and reflash the stock ECU to be tunable (a feature not available when I first turbo’d), change injectors, tune the system and replace a number of mechanical items. It dyno’d at 248 HP/227 ft-lbs torque at 12 psi and now drives like a stock daily driver. It is great fun to drive, but I can’t justify keeping it along with the other motorsports projects I have accumulated. It now has 60K miles on it and looks as good as the day I bought it.

Here is a rundown on the car’s features:

Exterior –

No dents, no rust, nearly flawless, Red paint/tan soft top. Beautiful factory aerodynamic body parts – front lip, side skirts, mudguards, spoiler. Stock Miata wheels in great shape, tires will need replacement after the new owner takes delivery.

Interior –

Clean, nearly perfect, light wear on driver side bolster, basically stock. Stock Bose sound system. Dual gauge pod on left pillar – boost and AFR. Boss Frog dual hoop polished stainless steel roll bar.

Engine/Tranny –

Complete BEGI S3 turbocharging system, GT2560 turbo, Tial EWG w/7 psi spring, separated gasses SS downpipe, cool air package, No. 1 intercooler, ceramic coated BEGI cast iron turbo header, coolant reroute, braided hoses, heat deflectors, 450cc injectors, stock ECU “reflashed/chipped/dyno tuned”, 3” aluminized steel exhaust from downpipe back, Dynamax silencer, large Magnaflo muffler, no catalytic converter (stock cat comes with car). Stock 6 speed tranny, FM clutch. Dial-a-boost for variable boost 7 to 12 psi.

While at BEGI in January, 2016 I had them replace fuel filter, front O2 sensor, spark plugs, fuel pump, and changed oil (synthetic).

Miscellaneous –

Everything works – A/C, PS, electric windows, etc.

Pricing –

You all know what it costs to build a very nice, low-miles car with these features and that it is a losing proposition when you sell. I have a total of nearly $20,000 in the car, (including the original used purchase price of $11,000) and have only put 5K miles on it. I want $9,000 as a buy-it-now price (includes up to $500 in new tires). At all times I will sell to the first buyer that puts a $1,000 cash deposit in my hand. If you seriously want a near-perfect 1999-2005 series Miata that runs like a bat out of hell, do yourself a favor and let go of the cash, save yourself money and all the headaches that come from building from scratch. You cannot build this car with premium equipment for $9K
