@kellyoxford
Cain, Perry, Bachmann all claimed God told them to run for President, and all are out of the race. God is hilarious.

Washington governor Chris Gregoire said she'll put forward legislation to legalize marriage for gay and lesbian couples: "Religions can decide what they want to do, but it is not ok for the state to discriminate"

Something I posted in the Random Political thread replying to the Santorum video:

"Here is why religious politicians like Santorum are dangerous:

Their number one loyalty is to their god, number two is their country, i.e., your rights, the law, any responsibility they hold. Everything that has to do with YOUR rights and the laws that govern the society we live in are tainted with the views that he/she holds because of his/her number one loyalty, g-o-d.
Therefor if you happen to be gay and want to get married, if we have a "leader" like Santorum then your civil rights mean sh*t, because "god" said when a man lyes with another man it is an abomination. Or maybe your a godless heathen like me and you don't want your kids getting taught bullsh*t like "intelligent design" in schools, too goddamn bad, now your biology book comes with an added section and a warning sticker. That's why we're behind the rest of the world when it comes to science."

Holy Brainy Gearhead, I had trouble watching some of those clips of Mother Teresa's home for the dying.

What I am trying to say here is dont attack christianity and the bible for the actions of heritics. (i know u didn't explicitly say it)

case and point

Revelation 22:11 KJV
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

they teach intelligent design in public schools? could you elaborate with supporting links? i explicitly remember getting taught evolution in school

Job 26:7
He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

hangeth the earth upon nothing.....think about that for a second....perhaps an indication of floating in space?
kinda contradicts pre-americas science doesn't it?

In Genesis 17:12, God specifically directed Abraham to circumcise newborn males on the eighth day. Why the eighth day? In 1935, professor H. Dam proposed the name “vitamin K” for the factor in foods that helped prevent hemorrhaging in baby chicks. We now know vitamin K is responsible for the production (by the liver) of the element known as prothrombin.

On the eighth day, the amount of prothrombin present actually is elevated above one-hundred percent of normal—and is the only day in the male’s life in which this will be the case under normal conditions. If surgery is to be performed, day eight is the perfect day to do it. Vitamin K and prothrombin levels are at their peak.

the bible repeatedly says that god stretches out the heavens
we know today that the universe is expanding and everything is getting further apart

Ezekiel 4:9
Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.

this is what god had instructed ezekiel to eat during a fast. this and only this
today it has proven to be the most complete source of protein derived from vegitation
the amino acids are a nearly complete protein comparable to milk or eggs

I have read much of the bible. I did it with the perspective of someone who has not learned the mainstream ideas of it. There is sooooooo much of what is taught in mainstream churches that i just don't understand where at in the bible they derive these sermons from. for example the bible only specifies three characters that will burn for an eternity, lucifer, the false prophet, and the antichrist.
I believe that some of the GOP candidates are very religious, and if they are not religious, yet they push the agenda of the "devout", then they are no better then those they pander too.
Rick Santourm seems to be pretty catholic (I was raised catholic btw, never quite felt right about all of it). I believe Paul can set his beliefs aside (maybe Paul is a Christian b/c Jesus hated the tax man too?), Romney is supposedly a Mormon, but I don't think he is particularity religious, Gingrich panders but IMO us not really religious, Bachman is crazy religious (her husband does "counseling" to help gays become straight). Obama imo might be an atheist or agnostic, I like to think so, helps me sleep at night.

Those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them
Bring them here and kill them in front of me"
[Jesus, (Luke 19:27)]

Yeah know which President mentioned god more then any other?

Clinton, for realz.

As for creationism and "intelligent design" being taught in schools: http://www.usatoday.com/news/educati...volution_x.htm

I really had no idea she was like that, I thought she was a decent person. She reminds me of Opus Dei and the "Mortification of the flesh".

I'm with you. That was shocking, I had assumed her "hospitals" at least gave basic medical care and you know....beds.

^That's another good one. I really liked the one on the Bible and the Vatican too.

It's ok, we'll win in the end. Atheism is the fastest growing belief, second is evangelism. We've got reason and intellagent thought on our side, they've got a story book, imagination and stupidity.
