Christmas Tree Tax
Anyone else have a problem with the Gov thinking they need to be in control of marketing for companies? You can't even make up crap like this...

15 CENTS? Too rich for my blood. Sorry kids, no Christmas this year b/c the Pres is a commie.
Seriously though, it's just 15 cents, don't you guys have a school levy to be complaining about? |

I like that video Scott. The company I work for is the largest single site battery manafacturer in North America. About 2 years ago, I could buy a lawn mower battery for like $14. 2 months ago, a coworker of mine went to buy one, and it was $30. I talked to a member of the sales department about the reasoning for such a price increase, and they said the purpose for the hike is due to cost of raw materials. The price of lead has more than doubled. Electricity has gone up, health insurance, fuel costs, etc. In other words, what they could sell a lawn mover battery for $14 to pay for, they now need to sell it for $30.
People don't see that it's not just a product you're paying for. It all breaks down to everything involved in manufacturing of the product. For instance: Mike builds a battery with a machine that requires maintenance and parts to keep it going. The machine also uses electric, natural gas, and water. The battery uses materials such as lead, plastic, oxide, and acid. Mike needs health insurance, and so does Dave. Dave delivers the batteries from Pennsylvania to Arizona by driving a truck which requires maintenance and fuel. We go from once making dollars on a battery, to making pennies due to rising costs and other competition. Where exactly should we point the finger? |
Who gives a shit. fuk christmas. I hope it dies.

The real problem is that the Government is involved at all. If the tree growers want to start an organization and collect the fee to build a marketing campaign, that is great. Have at it. But do not waste my government’s time and resources doing it.

exactly.

I volunteered to work Christmas.

I will never under stand why people kill trees to put in there house for a few days then toss them in the trash. Save the trees, screw the gov and teach the children that environment is more important to life that killing it for decor.
