I have to be honest, i see both sides of this.

To be brief, a part of me understands that it's "government issue" food. Therefore the kids take what they are given. They are 100% free to bring all food they want from home, no matter how bad or how much. The kids at my building very frequently get hot and ready pizzas (from Little Cesars, not sure if they are nationwide). Or fast food, or whatever. They aren't allowed to leave, but they can get it delivered or bring it from home. So i understand this and i'm on board with this idea.

The side i do not agree with is the portion control.
I eat the school meals every day, so i can't be a hypocrite when i say this. There just isn't enough food. Now i'm only a 5'6" 145lb scrawny guy and it's not enough food for me. I'm done growing. Some of these kids are pushing 6' and 200lbs and growing. They're not fat, just big. A slice of ham and cheese on a tortilla is not enough. It is simply not enough for kids to even sit in class and retain information that's given to them. They need the food in their body just for the energy.

Instead of giving the kids a 50 gram sandwich, why not make them be a little more physically active?

I said it earlier in this thread. A GOOD majority of the problem is pussy parents.
