I re-read the summary you posted, and I understand where you're coming from. I misread it initially, so it read like it was talking specifically about the Miranda warning. That said, the wording is vague and it can be interpreted as "your request for counsel will not stop questioning" and the remark by the senior aide made it sound like the FBI just flatout denied Tsarnaev's request.

That said, the dog whistle stuff... it's kind of hard to defend that, seeing how Tsarnaev would never be eligible for President (not born as a US Citizen) and all of the birther nonsense that has been floating around for the past few years.

i should have made a joke about his public debt then...
obama called himself a muslim socialist, in jest, the other day. Was that dog whistle rascim or just making jokes about topical references? Even if that WAS the joke I was going for, that's less to do with racism, and more to do the whole truther thing. Even the whole truther thing has little to nothing to do with racism and more to do with making sure there isn't a constitutional violation; full circle, we just came.

Thomas Jefferson was harassed constantly of not being a legitimate American because of his ties to France; he spoke French, had a French cook, even lived in France for 5 years. They also harassed him saying he had a slave baby; which has turned out to be possibly true.

Also, are you more concerned with the 5/14th potential violations because the suspect might be able to get away with a crime on a technicality (good thing they caught him on tape and have plenty of evidence against him out of questioning) or because you think it might be a bad precedent that FBI can toss ****** you up and start questioning you without a lawyer?
and why do you think this is more important than citizens being forced out of homes and being accused of harboring terrorists without due process of the law?
