here's the story on this one:

Donrell Breaux, 26, was arrested March 30 by a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputy. In a video that has gone viral on Facebook, he said was the victim of an unlawful arrest.

Breaux said he and Banegas were standing on Banegas' front porch and talking. He admits to using profanity, but said they were cracking jokes amongst themselves.

The neighbor walked out of his house and warned the two to watch their language. Breaux said the neighbor was belligerent, prompting a brief verbal confrontation that ended with the neighbor telling them he was calling the police.

About 10 to 12 minutes later, a deputy arrived and spoke for a few minutes with the neighbor, according to Breaux. "Then, he's grabbing my hoodie with handcuffs out. He said, 'Let me see some I.D.,' and grabs my wrist and says, 'You're under arrest,' at the same time," Breaux said.
"I thought it was unlawful."

Breaux, who has been living at the Marmandie Avenue address since December, said he recognized the deputy as a friend of the neighbor. "I've seen him at the residence before," he said.

Breaux was eventually taken into custody and booked with battery of a police officer, resisting arrest with violence, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

recurring theme: Police beat the **** out of the person family members call for help. Police defend the actions of officers. Police blame victim. Arrested/Charged for resisting arrest and assaulting police.

Video shows man with mental disabilities beaten by police

As they tried to arrest a man late last month, St. Louis police officers beat a mentally disabled man and a portion of the incident was captured on video. But was it a case of resisting arrest or police brutality?

According to police, the family of the man in the video, Mario Crump, called police for help when he started acting erratically on March 22nd. Now Crump is facing charges of resisting arrest and assaulting an officer.

If they let one guy get away with making an honest living everyone might think they can get away with making an honest living.

From the linked article:
"So because he refused to roll over, lie down, and lick the boots of the tyrants, he was subsequently thrown in prison."
I don't know why some people find this to be a such a difficult concept to master, and then feign surprise when they wind up being arrested after acting belligerently towards law enforcement. That acting submissively towards people who have both the physical power and legal authority to make your life suck is a recipe for success is something which most of us learn very early in childhood, vis-à-vis the authority structure inherent in the nominal parent/child relationship. (Or perhaps that's a clue, and a bit of scholarly research might expose a positive correlation between people who get themselves arrested for deliberately provoking the ire of law-enforcement and people who grew up in a household lacking clear parental authority.)

They who? The people who are deliberately picking fights with police officers in order to make martyrs of themselves for the purpose of self-aggrandizement?

I had to take another look to see where I missed the belligerent part.
We ought meekly submit to all authority?

LAPD officers tampered with in-car recording equipment, records show - latimes.com

An inspection by LAPD investigators found about half of the estimated 80 cars in one South L.A. patrol division were missing antennas.

Los Angeles police officers tampered with voice recording equipment in dozens of patrol cars in an effort to avoid being monitored while on duty, according to records and interviews.

An inspection by Los Angeles Police Department investigators found about half of the estimated 80 cars in one South L.A. patrol division were missing antennas, which help capture what officers say in the field. The antennas in at least 10 more cars in nearby divisions had also been removed.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and other top officials learned of the problem last summer but chose not to investigate which officers were responsible. Rather, the officials issued warnings against continued meddling and put checks in place to account for antennas at the start and end of each patrol shift.

Members of the Police Commission, which oversees the department, were not briefed about the problem until months later. In interviews with The Times, some commissioners said they were alarmed by the officers' attempts to conceal what occurred in the field, as well as the failure of department officials to come forward when the problem first came to light.

Chicago police under-reported aggravated assaults, batteries in 2012: Inspector General - chicagotribune.com

Chicago police did not report about a quarter of the aggravated assault and aggravated battery victims in its crime statistics in 2012, an audit by the city's top watchdog found.

The department failed to follow state guidelines by counting each aggravated assault or battery as one incident, not each victim as it should have, leading to the underreporting because of all the incidents that involved multiple victims, according to the inspector general's office.

The department said it has reported aggravated assaults and aggravated batteries in this way for many years, meaning Chicago's statistics on these crimes — including nonfatal shootings — have long gone underreported to the Illinois State Police and FBI.

The Tribune first highlighted how the department reported the number of shooting incidents, not victims, in a front-page story in 2010 that focused on one month during that summer.

Then, last July, the newspaper analyzed virtually every shooting in the first six months of 2013 and found that there had been more than 1,000 victims, far more than the department's own numbers since it reported only shooting incidents.

Kalamazoo County sergeant, who had machine gun in locker, handed $250 fine at sentencing | MLive.com

A former Kalamazoo County sheriff's sergeant, who was indicted last year on weapons charges, has been sentenced to pay a $250 fine on a misdemeanor charge in the case.

Matthew E. Emmert, 54, reached a plea agreement in January in which he pleaded guilty to one count of willful failure to supply information. As a part of the plea deal, the indictment against Emmert was dismissed and he avoided trial on felony charges of possession of an unregistered machine gun and possession of a machine gun.

...

Emmert’s retirement came amid allegations that the 34-year veteran of the sheriff’s office used a camera to record a deputy who was using his office as a private area to pump breast milk for her newborn.

Emmert claimed the recording was accidental but an internal investigation by sheriff’s Capt. Bill Timmerman found “sufficient evidence” to potentially charge Emmert with a felony in the Sept. 19, 2013, incident.

The MBTA transit police announced that everyone will be stopped and searched at “Transit Watch” checkpoints and that anyone declining a search will be ordered to leave the station, even though the area is public property.

“All persons choosing to use the MBTA transit system will be subject to security inspections of their handbags, briefcases and/or other carry-on items,” a Transit Watch pamphlet reads. “Any person refusing to allow a security inspection will be either denied entry or requested to leave MBTA property.”

The pamphlet also warns that anyone refusing to leave the station when requested will be subject to arrest “for trespass pursuant to M.G.L. 266, Section 120.”

“It is unclear how the trespassing law would apply given that the area is public property and it is not a crime to exercise your Fourth Amendment rights,” the Bay State Examiner reported on the subject.

Cop allegedly faked connections with **** website ?Brazzers? to exploit teen girl | The Free Thought Project

TREMONTON, Utah – A former police officer is accused of sexually exploiting a minor, and a court document indicates the man went to great lengths to fool the girl into thinking she was performing modeling work for a pornographic website.

According to a statement of probable cause filed Thursday, the suspect allegedly set up multiple email and social media accounts, and at one point threatened the teen into providing illegal photos, citing a breach of contract and debt in the thousands of dollars. In addition to these threats, the teen continued to cooperate out of fear of exposure.

Jeremy Rose, the accused, was an officer with the Tremonton Police Department; the document states he “was one of the sexual abuse investigators in Box Elder County.”

According to the document, the investigation began in May of 2013 at the request of the Box Elder County Attorney’s Office based on information provided by a local citizen. Outside investigators were brought in, as Box Elder officials were familiar with the suspect and some had worked with him on prior cases.

Good cop - bad cop? - I dunno. I googled his name and found he will not be prosecuted and don't know what I make of some of his notions and politics but interesting fellow in any case.
