Nuke Mars!
The phrase "nuke it from orbit" gets thrown around a lot these days...
A while back, I re-posted a humorous essay which proposed that as a step to achieving world peace, the US needed to nuke the moon. Apparently Elon Musk was listening. Musk, who has a habit of coming up with zany ideas and then transforming them into workable business models (Tesla Motors, SpaceX, etc) has proposed, with a straight face, that the fastest and easiest way to terraform Mars into a habitable planet is to nuke it from orbit. Specifically, to drop numerous megaton-class thermonuclear weapons on the poles. Elon Musk's new idea: Nuke Mars - CNN.com |
interesting, i have proposed nuking the middle east and south asia...

Would it be considered a preemptive strike or an act of unprovoked aggression?
"We need more living space. Give me the Sudatenland," demanded Musk. |

I just spit a little bit of tea on my keyboard. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1443474389 |
Soooo... How do you generate a magnetic field like the one Earth has. So that all the radiation is blocked.
Clouds and an atmosphere from what I understand, does not block radiation. Then again, i'm no professional. |
Slice planet in half, scoop out the middle with a giant melon baller, replace core with a large mass of ferrous metal, glue the two halves back together.
Anyone interested in buying stock in Elmer's better get on board quick! |
Nuke Mars!
Mars has no iron?
The god of war has no swords? |

The god of war has no swords? Nah, it's probably Iron, just like earth's. |
There was an article in today's NY Times where NASA is concerned that we don't fuck Mars up with our human microbes.
I should think a little radiation from a nuclear burst would fix that. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/29/sc...tionfront&_r=0 |
