I don't know... Where were you in 2001?

Stupid question gets a stupid response.

Hint: your trolling nature totally undermines any attempt at a reasonable discussion.

They did vote to extend the Patriot Act in 2011, no?

When did we move to a 3-party political system? Last I checked, there is no -TP after any representatives name, only -D or -R.

If you are referring to the "Tea Party Caucus" of the House, than I suppose you could make that work. Although a number of Tea Party supporters and activists were, at best, suspicious of a Washington caucus.

Totally agree with you, blaen, government-run schools are a mess and should be disbanded.

There was a written policy that stated that if a student is caught in immoral sexual acts including premarital sex, same sex, etc. that they would be reprimanded with the possibility of a Judicial hearing with the university. She had to sign a piece of paper that said she understood this policy. I do not feel bad for her at all. She chose to attend an openly Christian private University and agreed to their policies. They suspended her and gave her a way to get back in to school. She started the program and then continued a lesbian relationship which they found out about again resulting in expulsion.

The big issue now is the fact that they were not going to release her official transcripts until she pays back her $6,300 scholarship that was revoked on the basis of violating the schools code of conduct. This money was federal funds that the school had to return because the semester was less then 60% complete. This is common practice for any scholarship and school. If you owe them money they won't release official transcripts.

Whether or not you agree with the schools religious views, she knowingly entered into a binding agreement with the University and violated it. Case closed. If you are gay and you choose to attend a Christian University you're gonna have a bad time.

I have 100% absolutely no issue with it. not because "free market," because "legal binding agreement between two parties in which one violated and is butthurt 'literally'."

If you have issue with it, then you have issue with legal binding agreements and you want to live in hellish anarchy where there is no rights to property, land, or liberty, especially no rights to individual freedom; which of course is ironic.

America's Worst Charities, a Tampa Bay Times, CIR and CNN Investigation | Tampa Bay Times

I'm looking forward to digging in to this one a little more. As we have ramped up our personal charitable gifting over the past few years, I need to spend a little more time on due dilligence. Fortunately, none of the organizations we have worked with or donated to showed up on the "worst" list.

For others that are charitably inclined, here are some additional resources:

Unfortunately you won't be able to give to any of the Tea Parties, as their paperwork is still stuck at the IRS...

From Roger Ailes Bradley Prize speech:

A guy in a hot-air balloon is lost and late for an appointment and descends to ask for directions. A passerby pulls out a GPS device and tells him exactly where he is.

“You must be a conservative,” the balloon man says. The man on the ground asks how he knows that. The reply: Everything you’ve told me is technically correct, I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is, I’m still lost. Frankly, you haven’t been very much help so far.

The conservative replies that the balloon guy must be a liberal. "How do you know?"

“You don’t know where you’re going or where you’ve been, you’ve risen to where you are on hot air, and you made a promise that you have no idea how to keep. Now you expect me to solve your problems. The fact is, you’re in the same place you were before we met and now it’s my fault!”
