Sometimes, obscure town ordinances are enforced only when you do something that offends the religious beliefs of busybody midwesterners.

The law "applies" to everyone, but is enforced only against people who put up a nativity scene on private property featuring a zombie baby Jesus.
Is this a first-amendment violation? Discuss.

Nativity scene features 'zombie' baby Jesus (WXIX)
A man in Ohio is facing legal action if he does not take down his Nativity scene that features zombies instead of traditional biblical characters.
Jasen Dixon told WXIX that he manages 13 Rooms of Doom haunted house, so he already had the zombies, including one resembling the baby Jesus.
“I wanted a Nativity scene and I worked with what I had,” he explained.
Neighbor Dan Fluker said that he didn’t really pay attention to the Nativity scene “until the different color lights came on, then finally the baby was put in the manger.”
“The neighbors don’t like it. My father hates it and anything bad that happens he blames it on that,” Dixon pointed out. “On the average we probably get 30 or 40 cars stop and taking pictures, getting out with their camera. People that follow zombie movies and stuff like that love it,”
But just days after WXIX spoke to Dixon, Sycamore Township township ordered him to take it down or face legal action. Town officials claimed that Dixon was breaking the rules with a structure on the front side of his yard, and a display that took up more than 35 percent of the area.
But Dixon said that he wasn’t buying the explanation.
“I’ve lived here for 15 years and I’ve never had a violation of any kind,” he insisted. “It’s a holiday decoration. I know if it was a real pretty nativity scene they wouldn’t be saying anything.”
Sycamore Township wants the zombies off his lawn by Dec. 26.

^ He was in the local news a week or so ago. Most people here could care less and I think the fact the town wants it down "by December 26" shows you how strong they feel the case would be. He's saying he may leave it up so we'll see.
For me, it's his property so live with it. I can drive around and see plenty of signs espousing views I don't agree with. As they're on private property so what, live with it.
You worked next door to that Township and pretty much characterized the problem.

I almost fell for my indoctrination, but then I was like wait, "why am i agreeing with anything these smelly hippies, startving artists, and low-class failures are saying?" and snapped out of it. In VA, whites make up 70% of the population, and blacks 20%. At VCU, whites make up 50% of the population, and blacks 17%.

Since there's been talk about micro-aggression lately, I decided to give myself a very quick education on the subject. One of the references I turned to was Wikipedia, and the very first paragraph of their article on the subject confuses me:

Interesting article on gun trafficking with well done graphics.
I don't get the last section where it discusses Missouri laws because it leaves me thinking, OK so what... the crooks didn't have to drive far. One more variable should be included at least to me.

We're ok here though, because you're not allowed to have handguns in NYC regardless of where they came from. You can't even cut across NYC as a shortcut to get from NJ to LI if you have a handgun gun in the trunk of your car.
I feel very safe.

Alright, if you can't get everyone to agree how/if you can stop it you may as well do the next best thing. Gain enough data so future beings might figure it out.

Not to turn this into a gun thread because we already have a good one, I just wanted to share this gem of a blog that was shared by a friend of a friend who was complaining about one of our local grocery stores potentially allowing guns to be carried in their stores. Basically this woman was complaining because Roundy's which owns a chain of stores in Illinois called "Mariano's" is being aquired by Kroger which allows carry of guns in it's stores.
According to this woman, allowing guns in Mariano's will result in the kinds of violence that happen in Wal-Marts nation wide. She points to 92 wal-mart shootings in 2014. This is the graphic she used to argue her case:
So I took a look at the incidents referenced:
Walmart Shootings: List of 2014 Walmart Shootings
Just a few of the headlines that count as "shootings" and allegedly support her argument:
- Off-duty policeman shoots shoplifter at Texas Walmart after being stabbed
- Police detective commits suicide by gun in California Walmart parking lot
- Ohio man waves realistic-looking pellet rifle at Walmart customers; shot dead by police
- Woman shot in eye by man with BB gun in Walmart parking lot
And my favorite:
- Police shoot and kill crows at an Idaho Walmart
Wal-Mart has 4,177 stores nation wide. If you are trying to make an argument that banning guns would have made Wal-Mart safer, you need to find a better data set ma'am.
Oh, and Mariano's already allows guns in it's stores, as does Jewel food stores, and most other stores she shops at.
