and he was cleared, in 1999, of the last charge (the only one that stuck) in which he had to pay the $300,000 fine...FWIW.

Yeah, that's about the best terms I've ever heard about Gingrich's forced removal from Speaker.
Seriously, Bipartisan support against the speaker dude. That's unprecedented, and will never happen again.
