Free Money? Swiss Village Can’t Raise Enough Funds to Experiment

December 04 2018, 8:38 AM(Bloomberg) -- A village in northern Switzerland hoping to pay people up to 2,500 francs ($2,510) a month has failed to raise enough funds for the basic income project.

The crowdfunding campaign yielded just 151,836 francs, a fraction of the 6.1 million francs required for the experiment.

More than half the 1,300 inhabitants of Rheinau, by the River Rhine close to the German border, had signed up to be part of the test. It was led by filmmaker Rebecca Panian, who hoped to make a film about it and had set a self-imposed deadline of Tuesday for the fund raising.

Study: 63% of Non-Citizen Households In 2014 Used Welfare

By HANK BERRIEN
December 4, 2018

According to a study from the Center for Immigration Studies, which analyzed the Census Bureau's Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP), 63% of non-citizen households in 2014 accessed welfare programs. The study states that “of non-citizens in Census Bureau data, roughly half are in the country illegally. Non-citizens also include long-term temporary visitors (e.g. guestworkers and foreign students) and permanent residents who have not naturalized (green card holders).”

In comparison to the 63% of non-citizen households that used at least one welfare program, 35% of native-headed households accessed at least one welfare program. 45% of non-citizen households used of food programs; 21% of native households used them. 50% of non-citizen households used Medicaid as opposed to 23% of native households.

The study stated:

Welfare use is significantly higher for non-citizens than for natives in all four top immigrant-receiving states. In California, 72 percent of non-citizen-headed households use one or more welfare programs, compared to 35 percent for native-headed households. In Texas, the figures are 69 percent vs. 35 percent; in New York they are 53 percent vs. 38 percent; and in Florida, 56 percent of non-citizen-headed households use at least welfare program, compared to 35 percent of native households.

how to democrat:

1. be deplorable
2. let the news cover how incompetent you are
3. "resign"
4. rescind your resignation after the dust has cleared to continue getting a paycheck while you're suspended.

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/...9MeHXNvMGRa5kw

The Florida elections chief who resigned amid controversy over her mismanagement of vote counts during the state’s midterm elections rescinded her resignation over the weekend, saying she will now fight to stay in her position.

Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes resigned last month after coming under fire for the several problems that plagued Florida’s close elections for governor and Senate last month.

“Although I have enjoyed this work tremendously over these many election cycles, both large and small, I am ready to pass the torch,” Snipes, a Democrat, wrote to Republican Governor Rick Scott in her resignation letter.

Her resignation was due to take effect January 4, but on Friday Scott suspended her in the meantime.

Snipes then took back her resignation, and will be “fighting this to the very end,” her lawyer Burnadette Norris-Weeks said.

“We believe these actions are malicious,” the attorney said at a Saturday press conference.

how to liberal:

1. find a problem in everything.
2. make death threats over the dumbest **** ever.
3. have no "guts!"

LGBT Site Writer Calls Ariana Grande’s New Video ‘Anti-Queer,’ Removes Byline After ‘Death Threats’

The LGBT news website INTO has removed the byline for an opinion piece accusing Ariana Grande’s new music video “thank u, next” of being “anti-queer” after the writer of the story received death threats.

“We have decided to remove the author’s name from this piece after the editorial team was alerted that a high number of death threats were being made against the writer as a result of the opinions presented in this piece,” read an editor’s note affixed to the top of the article.

“INTO has historically been a place for varying opinions from LGBTQ people around the world, and will remain such a place — but these opinions never warrant violence,” it continued. “And when a writer’s own life could potentially be at stake, we must take necessary steps to ensure their safety.”

remember when women just wanted to be able to vote and get paid as much as a men doing the same job but without any of the commitment/skill/knowledge?

Feminists' Idea of Paradise Is Socialist Syrian Commune That Has No Men

"Anyone want to have a men free commune in the US?"

Jezebel readers heartily approved of a glowing profile about a Syrian feminist commune published Monday by the liberal blog.

"With the aid of women’s rights groups and volunteers, a group of women in Syria have created a self-sustainable feminist commune outside of the structures of patriarchy and capitalism," wrote senior Jezebel reporter Prachi Gupta in an article entitled,

"Women in Syria Have Created a Feminist Commune Free of Patriarchy and Capitalism."

Women in Jinwar, a village located in war torn northern Syria that was under ISIS control only a few years ago, are mainly survivors of ISIS' brutal violence, The Independent reported.

Men are not allowed to remain in the village. Women farm their own lots, sell the harvest, and make all the decisions in the "ecological idyll."

"There’s no need for men here, our lives are good,” one of Jinwar's residents told The Independent.

Jezebel readers responded to Gupta's piece by praising the women of Jinwar and criticizing men.

"Anyone want to have a men free commune in the US?"
wrote one commenter in a top-rated remark.

"This village embodies what, I believe, men fear at the most deep, existential level: a society in which they’re unnecessary," wrote another user who goes by the sobriquet TyrannosaurusRegina.

Yet another commenter took issue with the purportedly sexist language used in The Independent's coverage of Jinwar, specifically the sentence declaring the "residents of Jinwar arekept busy by the work required to be self-sustainable.”

...

“We do our own farming, we plant trees. Every woman farms her own lot for her kids. We sell the harvest, and use the revenue to support our expenses,” she adds.

sidenote: they are wearing hijabs.

It must **** the hippies at Berkley off so much that court ruled for free speech:

https://www.dailywire.com/news/38988/yaf-wins-major-victory-free-speech-against-uc-hank-berrien?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_ content=062316-news&utm_campaign=crowder&fbclid=IwAR16LTUMvWBsLKP kPSWPBMNnlkawVRHeYrLbPksRBnK9DsLr6KX2gL_oAoc

On Monday, Young America’s Foundation won a major victory for free speech, settling a lawsuit it had filed against the University of California, Berkeley: the university will have to pay YAF $70,000 to reimburse attorneys’ fees, rescind the unconstitutional “high-profile speaker policy," rescind the viewpoint-discriminatory security fee policy, and abolish its heckler’s veto so that protestors will be barred from blocking conservatives from speaking.

It took over a year for YAF to achieve victory. As YAF noted:

No longer can UC Berkeley place a 3:00 p.m. curfew on conservative speech. No longer can UC Berkeley ban advertisements for Young America’s Foundation-sponsored campus lectures. And no longer can UC Berkeley relegate conservative speakers to remote or inconvenient lecture halls on campus while giving leftist speakers access to preferred locations.
Further, the policy that allowed Berkeley administrators to charge conservative students $20,000 for security to host Ben Shapiro — an amount three times greater than the fee charged to leftist students to host liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor — is gone. YAF and UC Berkeley agreed to a fee schedule that treats all students equally. Unless students are handling money or serving alcohol at an event, the security fee will be zero.

for joe:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...=.93b1350af955

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s $21 trillion mistake

...

Let’s put $21 trillion in context. The entire national debt is $21.8 trillion. According to the Congressional Budget Office, total defense spending from 1998 to 2015 was nearly $9 trillion. The CBO estimates $7 trillion in defense spending from 2019 to 2028.

In other words, completely defunding the military for the next decade would yield only one-fifth of $32 trillion. That’s a much better way of illustrating the cost of Medicare-for-All.

Ocasio-Cortez is not the first Twitter user to mangle information from a news report. But it’s unconvincing to try to pass this off as a rhetorical point being misread. She cited the $21 trillion figure and said “66% of Medicare for All could have been funded already by the Pentagon.”

That’s a direct comparison. It’s badly flawed. The same article she referenced on Twitter would have set her straight. The tweet is still up, probably causing confusion. So we will award Four Pinocchios to Ocasio-Cortez.
she's so dumb even the liberals hate her.

For Scott:

National Republican Congressional Committee says it was hacked during this year’s election cycle

The sun sets behind the U.S. Capitol in November. (James Lawler Duggan/Reuters)
By Ellen Nakashima and Shane Harris December 4 at 1:02 PM

The campaign organization for House Republicans was the victim of a cyberattack that exposed email accounts to an unknown intruder during the 2018 election cycle, people familiar with the matter said.

It wasn’t known whether a foreign government was behind the intrusion into the computer networks of the National Republican Congressional Committee, a person familiar with the case said. But the intruder was “sophisticated, based on their tactics and methods,” and the intrusion “was clearly designed to hide the tracks of who it was,” this person said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the matter is under investigation.

The intrusion was first reported by Politico, which said senior House Republicans, including Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), as well as rank-and-file members weren’t told of the breach until the news organization inquired about the episode with the committee on Monday.

“The NRCC can confirm that it was the victim of a cyber intrusion by an unknown entity,” said Ian Prior, a committee spokesman.

“The cybersecurity of the committee’s data is paramount, and upon learning of the intrusion, the NRCC immediately launched an internal investigation and notified the FBI, which is now investigating the matter. To protect the integrity of that investigation, the NRCC will offer no further comment on the incident,” Prior said.

The committee discovered the breach in April, said a person familiar with the case. Officials conducted an internal investigation and contacted the FBI within days, the person said.

CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity firm, already had been retained by the committee.

The breach was discovered by a different company that was providing “managed security services” to monitor the network for breaches, the person said.

The committee did not publicize the breach because, the person added, officials were trying to shied the investigation and not tip off the intruders. “It gets out and becomes harder to investigate,” the person said.

The intrusion bears similarities to a breach at the Democratic National Committee in 2016, in which Russian hackers stole emails of senior committee officials.

But in that case, the Russians gave the emails to WikiLeaks, which published them ahead of the Democratic National Convention. The emails revealed that committee leaders had supported Hillary Clinton as the likely nominee, even though they had publicly claimed not to have a preferred candidate.

There is no indication that any NRCC emails were made public.

One security expert said the committee may have erred in not disclosing the breach.

“The information extracted from this operation could have been of extremely high value for foreign intelligence services,” said Brett Bruen, a National Security Council official in the Obama administration who is now president of the Global Situation Room, a crisis communications firm. “It would provide them with critical insights into the plans, weaknesses and interests of key GOP officials and candidates. By not being transparent about this clear vulnerability to our democracy, the RNC placed the interests of party over those of the country.”

Looks like a bogus completely trashed and objective chart put out by a lover of ABC, NBC & CBS.
All the major US based news outlets should be in the same square with a flashing red rectangle around the bunch.
