I was hesitant to post about this. I'm one to not really pay attention to our politicians when it comes to condolences after attacks or events. I breezed past this this post and though nothing of it, but then it stuck in my head. The more I thought about it, the more confused and dissatisfied I was with the response.

I understand not all those who lost their lives or injured were Christians, but failing to call a spade a spade when she had no issues being specific with the New Zealand massacre, bothers the heck out of me.

This was an attack on (mostly) Christians. It was on Easter Sunday and occurred in several churches. This was an attack, at least in large part, on Christianity. Why do our politicians fail to call out persecution of Christians? Why is it so easy to be specific for attacks against Muslims and other groups, but gloss over attacks against Christians? Why do they use terms like "Easter worshipper", instead of what they actually are, Christians?

We need to call out the victims and perpetrators of any and every attack.

journalism is all about being a good journalist.

also:

he Pulitzer Prizes organization has been accused of being an exclusive club in which members give awards to each other, and the institution did nothing to dispel that notion last week by honoring the wife of a prominent board member.

Author Eliza Griswold won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for general nonfiction for Amity and Prosperity: One Family and the Fracturing of America. Her husband is Steve Coll, dean of the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University, which hosts the prizes, and a Pulitzer board member since 2012.

Pulitzer Prizes administrator Dana Canedy rejected the suggestion that connections matter when it comes to nabbing the 102-year-old award, considered the journalism establishment’s highest honor.

“That is utter nonsense,” Ms. Canedy said in an email. “For every Pulitzer winner with a connection to the board there are literally thousands without a board affiliation and yet somehow we never get inquiries about those.”

She also said that Mr. Coll, a two-time Pulitzer winner, was not involved this year in voting for the books. Board members vote for the winners among finalists selected by panels of jurors.

^ Really no secrets there. The Academy Awards, the AP awards, etc., are all pay-to-play systems.

no votes, no care.

Don Lemon: Senator Bernie Sanders said earlier he’s in favor of felons being able to vote while serving in prison. He was asked specifically about people like the Boston Marathon Bomber and also people convicted of sexual assault. He said “the right to vote is inherent to our democracy, even for terrible people.” Do you agree?

Kamala Harris: I agree the right to vote is one of the key components of citizenship and it is something people should not be stripped of needlessly.

Don Lemon: But, people who are convicted, like the Boston Bomber. They should be able to vote?

Kamala Harris: I think we should have that conversation.

when you realize it's clown world.

I've been watching this CNN Town Hall for the past couple of hours. Klobuchar was first, and I found some of her points and policies interesting. Of course, anti-Trump and anti-conservative rhetoric was spewed, but it was bearable.

Then Elizabeth Warren had her town hall. Again, typical pandering to the crowd. Lots of promises and fairy tales. By the end of her town hall, it's starting to get to me and I don't know how much longer I could last.

Now Bernie Sanders is on stage. I listened to a couple of his answers to the questions and I had to call it quits. The questions being asked are so weak, and there is absolutely no push back to their extravagant and fairytale plans. Claims of voter suppression, support of the green new deal, universal healthcare, destruction of entire industries, personal controversies, etc are not been talked about in any serious way. This is all a facade. It's a joke.

What I'm afraid of is young voters being duped by these candidates who are promising the world, knowing damn well they'll never give them it.

Oh by the way, Bernie thinks the Boston Bomber and sexual predators should be able to vote while in jail

#FreeBritney: Britney Spears’ Fans Stage Protest Alleging She's Being Held Against Her Will

Fans of Britney Spears have taken to the streets outside West Hollywood City Hall with signs reading "Free Britney," and demanding that the singer be released from a mental health facility where they say she is being held against her will.

ET learned earlier this month that Britney had checked herself into a health facility. A source told ET at the time that she made the decision in order to deal with the tremendous stress she's been having over her father, Jamie Spears', current health crisis.

The check-in came just a few weeks after she put her career on an indefinite hiatus, postponing her album and putting her Britney: Domination show at Park Theater at the Park MGM resort in Las Vegas on hold before it even began.

Shortly thereafter, allegations were made in a "special emergency episode" of the fan podcast Britney's Gram claiming that she's being held against her will, and the quickly trending hashtag #FreeBritney was born.

Now, fans who are ardent believers in the expansive alleged conspiracy to keep Spears captive are making their voices heard in person.

I have to say, I understand offering free healthcare and student loan forgiveness as a way to buy votes..............but letting a terrorist or someone convicted of sexual assault vote from prison.

This one has me actually flabbergasted.

Any way they can pack their voter rolls I guess. Being able to sleep at night apparently remains optional.

In light of the fact that we want to allow minors and non-citizens to vote, you're flabbergasted that we also want to allow convicted felons serving time in prison to vote?

I definitely don't agree with the first two things you mentioned.

Want to know who else disagreed with letting certain classes of citizens vote?

The Nazis*.

Why are you a Nazi?
