Don't confuse SOCIALISM and STATISM.

SOCIALISM = re-distribution of wealth by force, by the Government.

STATISM = the gov't is all-wise, all-powerful, more important, and knows better than the individual, and solves all of society's problems.

Socialism is one form of Statism.

Safety Nannyism (what the dude is talking about), is also one type or manifestation of Statism.

The title of your thread should be "Statism and the Reno Air Races".
