How is that a counter question? It has nothing to do with terrorists being in America...
The fact is nothing is stopping them from doing road side bombs in America. Nothing is stopping them from walking into a building a blowing it up. Nothing is stopping them from doing drive by shootings at schools. Nothing is stopping them from shooting an RPG at a plane as it takes off.... OH WAIT, there ARE people behind the scenes doing that.
We live in a shitty world. Things have changed. If we get complacent there will be another attack. Is it worth the trouble? I guess not.

So after continually hearing about all this ****, no one can come up with a better solution that will make the public feel safe. Note that I said FEEL SAFE, not actually safe. I'm not qualified to make that call so who am I to say if we're safe or not. Let's face it, we could (should) nuke the **** out of the Middle East and we'd still have terrorist ***** from elsewhere or even better, good ol' fashioned homebred unabombers and the like. We can't do nothing so we gotta do something. If my gov't wants to see my dick, so be it. Not like every single member of our armed forces doesn't get watched taking a **** a few times a year. We're doing just fine. The public can, too.
It's the best choice for now, and I'm sure in a couple years everyone will forget the controversy and the TSA finger **** and scan will be the norm. You can't really go any further than this without penetration, and that's just not going to happen. Ever. Because people can justify ******* up a TSA agent for that, but not really for a cop and feel.
In these times, the only people who can have privacy in our country are the backwoods weirdos and the Amish. Because they do not use our wonderful technology. Now who the **** wants to live like that?

Sadly this new system in place has nothing to do with detecting bombs, or terrorists for that matter, remember, the United States doesn't 'profile' that's why you see the 79 year old lady getting extra attention being searched and the rag head walking on through. It is about money, that's all it is. It's an invasion of privacy for a lot of people. Me personally, I was in the Marines and am used to my **** being out for **** tests etc, but for others, included children having to go through these it's stupid! And a 11,000 dollar fine if you walk out of the 'secured' area because you don't want to be searched! What is the country coming too, if they want to catch ******* terrorists, profile, it's that simple, and maybe, just maybe use a puffer than detects if you have come into contact with explosives, rather than a pat down when you have C4 pushed up your *******...just a thought.

It's a ******* show. Had all these measures been in place before 9-11, it would have still happened. They hid box cutter blades in their carry-on bags...not their person.
They are not using profiling. They are not using common sense. They are not putting the puzzle together when 4 guys from Yemen board a plane together.
These new methods are a show for the public in direct response to the last two security breakdowns, specifically the underwear bomber. Since he smuggled something in his underwear, the gov't tells the TSA they should start giving hand jobs in line.
Treating everyone like they are criminals is negation of freedom. You cannot live free and be treated like this.
Every gov't in history uses the public safety > freedom pitch to increase the power of the gov't (The Patriot Act for one), and you idiots are willing to give it up for: increased waiting time at the airport and the feeling of safety. That's all it is.
When you see grandma get her **** felt up you think: "at least I know she's not a terrorist!"
When I see that I think: "Holy Mother Of God. The Gov't is unable and unwilling to determine the difference between the good guys and the bad guys, and utilizes its power to meddle as much in our affairs as in those of the ones who might do us harm."
The terrorist will just find new methods to use it against us, like dress up like a pilot since they are allow to bypass security now, or enter the plane as a crew member. Then the gov't will just take away another freedom from us, to "protect us."
What if the gov't decided that on every major highway we should have to pass through security checkpoints? What if they made you pass through a scanner everytime you entered your home? What if you had to have a national ID card and scan it everywhere you go or every time you buy something?
Remember that once gov't has it's monopoly on the legitimate use of violence we have no way to defend our own lives, liberty, and property except at the pleasure of the government...

When I was in Jerusalem I say the Israelis at work. They questioned us, cross questioned us, tripled verified information. I though it was a lot better than these scanners. But then their airport security takes pride in their job and is not just some joe schome higerd to look around and grope you.

I just got hard.
I kinda want to dress in women's Muslim garb next time I travel and explain they cant scan me or touch me cause it violates Shaira Law. They will oblige because the US gov't caters to Muslims epseically since 99.9% of the time they are the terrorists that they are trying to catch in the first place.

We are the only country in the world with the freedoms we have, we became a superpower because of it in 200 short years...and now all of a sudden we wanna give it all away because we are too Politically Correct to use profiling.
I'm surprised the gov't hasn't just banned air travel all together to stop terrorists. When they do, terrorists will just start blowing up buses, and then we'll start the process all over. Don't catch them before the act, wait till the terrorize us, then force regular people that aren't in danger to subcome to ridiculous methods of "Public Safety".

Honestly, I don't see the problem. Been through 'em at San Diego twice, doesn't take much longer than the regular magnetometer (and much faster than the puffer/sniffer thing they had for a while) and if some TSA lackey wants to bask in the radiance of a low-rez image of my glorious ****, who cares?

Funniest thing about all of these arguments IMO is that the same people making them (not all the same people, but a lot of them) argue that machine guns and assault rifles cause crime. Anyone care to wager a guess at how many crimes have been committed with legally owned fully automatic weapons since the 1930's?

Hrrmmm.. well, no, that is not quite right. Off topic, I know, but I just got to comment on this common misperception. The rights of the American people are in no way greater then the rights of the people living in for example the EU-countries.
