Explanation for those who don't understand sarcasm: this is actually an excellent example of the media acting rationally, responsibly and fairly in the face of both public hysteria and political one-uppsmanship, and behaving exactly as the fourth estate ought to- providing unbiased, objective and useful perspective on real-world events of significance.
