Wallstreet and 60 Minutes

So, the DOJ isn't willing to look into this - but a news agency had no problem ferreting this out? |
Damn. Maybe now there will be some action taken. I understand they they have to build a case and prove things beyond a reasonable doubt, but they have a witness who is willing to testify who they have failed to speak with.

What?! the system that hands out all the money, makes all the rules, and allows everything to happen isn't doing anything about all the money they gave, rules they made that caused failure, and the economy they ruined?!
http://biggovernment.com/files/2011/...s-843x1024.jpg you guys are so naive. |
okay so I'm three minutes in and I have issues:
1. Who's looking through recycle bins? 2. Did she not take proof? Words mean nothing in court. 3. Isn't this not the policies of the HUD--the give loans to those who cannot qualify? 4. How does she know this happened all over the place? 7:00 in. Still haven't learned a damn thing, or seen one shred of evidence. 12:00min in and they finally say she was in charge of investigating fraud! okay. finished with the countrywide stuff. Didn't shed any light on any situation. We have a chick that got paid millions for a wrongful termination suit and another lawsuit where they suggest something about some exec. This is not Woodward and Bernstein reporting. Anyways, countrywide failed as a company for, supossedly, illegally giving out loans to those who don't qualify for them. This is 4 years late. Anyways, in 2008 the Real Estate industry spent $83,587,061 in lobbying efforts, so why would they get prosecuted? Onto Citigroup. So Citigroup screwed it's customers by buying toxic loans. I don't see what's illegal? They also gave: Obama, Barack (D-IL) Senate $736,771 Clinton, Hillary (D-NY) Senate $441,317 McCain, John (R-AZ) Senate $338,202 Romney, Mitt (R) Pres $178,450 Giuliani, Rudolph W (R) Pres $167,450 Dodd, Chris (D-CT) Senate $155,994 ultimately spending over 5 million in contributions in 2008. In turn, they got back 45 billion dollars in free loans from the Fed... Who rewarded the bad behavior? Because the gov't made 12.3 billion dollars in profit from the loan to Citigroup. I don't think they have any inclination to prosecute them. But, I still don't see where Citigroup did anything illegal worth prosecuting, while they screwed over stockholders doing shady business; that's your own damn risk investing in any company. |
Remember, that's just one clip of the hourlong show, Brainy, and the only clip I could find online.
