Gingrich isn't dumb, he's just scary. Romney might be dumb. But I wouldn't support either of them anyway, because both are essentially the same as Obama, that is to say, they represent a political view that is antithetical to my own. I feel no compulsion to be on the "winning team", so I'm not terribly concerned about whether anyone thinks I'm "wasting" a vote.

I remember when I was a little kid, probably no older then 6 and my mom and dad toke me and my little bro up to DC to look at a museum or something, I don't remember the museum but I do remember a very large group of protesters yelling "GIVE NEWT THE BOOT, GIVE NEWT THE BOOT". Some 15 years later the man runs for office and all I can think is "GIVE NEWT THE BOOT".

For me, I am still struggling with whether or not I think Paul's economic policies would be harmful enough to outweigh the fact that I agree with him on virtually all of his other stances and consider him to be among the most principled politicians around. I am also not sure how well he could govern. I did vote for him in the 2008 primary.
I prefer Romney over Gingrich but am concerned with his connections to the FIRE industries. I also need to better digest his views on the role of Federal government. I feel like he has a better chance of being able to govern and is a better fit for the broadly center-right USA.
I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around Gingrich. He had some significant accomplishments and also significant mis-steps as the Speaker of the House. His career after politics seems to embody a lot of what I think is wrong with the current system.

When I decide who I want to vote for in any election I look at the candidates beliefs on all the issues I can find and decide whether or not his or her beliefs are close enough to mine for my to vote for him/her. I place more importance on some issues then others, I look at the candidates religion, if her or she is a good speaker and if the candidate "acts like a leader" or not, among other things. I don't want a candidate who has extreem views, is more then moderately religious, lacks empathy, doesn't act like a leader, comes off as dumb, is so steadfast in his/her beliefs that he/she can not listen to a reasonable argument put forth by the other side, etc.
I believe Paul's economic plan could be harmful, I don't agree with Romney on many issues, (oddly it seems that this is a bigger issue then his Mormonism, which I haven't seem too much of), Gingrich doesn't seem electable even if I did like him as a candidate (Same w/ Paul). This leaves Obama as the lesser of the 4 evils. If it was 2008 and McCain didn't pick Palin as his running mate it might be a different story, Palin was a horrendous choice as VP.

never listened to him before, but yeah you nailed that video pretty well.
And why was his video labeled as amazing? I'll nutshell it. "the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer." I haven't EVER heard that before.
