Yeah; I have effectively been working continuously since I was 14 and covered through ESHI since I was probably 18 (at the latest) so I never think about people buying individual plans other than the self-employed or some young people buying catastrophic plans.

I would guess most people with individual plans that are not employer-sponsored are having those policies cancelled because those policies either (A) don't meet the new minimum coverage requirements, (B) don't cover up the new minimum expenses (60% of care, I think), and/or (C) the insurer feels they may now face worse selection bias.

Even the OMB says that in 10 years there will be 30 million people without health care coverage. So let's turn the health care system upside down, charge everyone more, cause businesses to go bankrupt and people to lose coverage based on increased costs, all so the "problem" still won't be solved.

And the BIG elephant in the room--all of America has been lied to, and Obama KNEW he was lying while he said it we could keep our insurance, we could keep our doctor, etceteras. This is not the most transparent government ever, and this is no way to govern under any situation.

Looks like they quoted Ryan_G:

I don’t think the message was wrong. I think the message was accurate. It was not precise enough…[it] should have been caveated with – ‘assuming you have a policy that in fact does do what the bill is designed to do.’

Insurers Oppose Obamacare Extension as Danger to Profits - Bloomberg

Extending the enrollment period would have a “destabilizing effect on insurance markets,” said Robert Zirkelbach, a spokesman for the Washington-based lobbyist group American’s Health Insurance Plans. Allowing younger, healthy Americans to sign up later, as they probably would, means less revenue for insurers counting on those premiums to help defray the cost of sicker customers, threatening industry profits.

ObamaCare screw up sends callers to cupcake shop | New York Post

Because of the mistake, her bakery has gotten 150 calls from people seeking medical-insurance information.

“There has to be somebody who can help with ObamaCare; that’s their own mess,” she said.

New Yorkers shopping for medical coverage under ObamaCare are being directed by the state’s health-exchange Web site to 288 locations where so-called navigators can offer personal assistance.

They are reaching places such as Rodriguez’s shop because the erroneous listings contain the businesses’ accurate addresses, phone numbers and even languages spoken.
The cupcake maker is at her wit’s end.

“I don’t want to be listed, because they are calling my telephone off the hook,” she said.
In nearby Red Hook, the dispatcher for a limo company was equally puzzled at finding his company to be among those listed as enrollment sites.

“If you want me to get you a car, I can help you out,” said Allen Amor of Apex Car & Limo. But ObamaCare? Sorry, wrong number.

Marco Abad, of Zambrand Auto Repair in Sunset Park, said he didn’t even realize his business was among those listed.

“That’s something crazy, because we fix cars over here,” he said.

Amar Git, owner of Desi Deli in Hell’s Kitchen, said he couldn’t possibly help navigate ObamaCare because he doesn’t have insurance himself.

“How can it be? How can I help?” he asked rhetorically.

A receptionist at a supposed navigator site that is actually Crystal Skin Care on Mott Street hung up on a Post reporter.

A clerk at the nearby Dragonland Bakery, another listed site, said no one there spoke English.

One of the places listed at least dealt in health issues — though they were not an enrollment site.

I can't believe you ******** want the gov't to control your healthcare.

Obama - Remarks to AFL - CIO
"I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer health care plan. The United States of America--the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent--14 percent of its gross national product on health care and cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody and that's what Jim is talking about when he says, 'Everybody in. Nobody out.' A single payer health care credit--universal healthcare credit. That's what I'd like to see, but as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House and we've got to take back the Senate and we've got to take back the House."

Obama - Remarks - 8/4/07
"This is a two trillion dollar part of our economy and it is my belief that it's not just politically but economically it is better for us to start getting a system in place--a universal healthcare system signed into law by the end of my first term as president and build off that system to further to make it more rational..."
"By the way, Canada did not start immediately with a single payer system. They had a similar transition step. "

Obama- New Hampshire Public Radio 11/21/07
OBAMA: It's a transitional system building on the existing systems that we have.
HOST: Transitional to what?
OBAMA: Transitional, hopefully, because the system is currently a patchwork of inefficiency that over time I would want to see Medicaid, Medicare, the Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP)--all those integrated more effectively.

Obama - Public Remarks 4/3/07
"Let's say that I proposed a plan that moved to a single payer system--Let's say Medicare plus. Essentially, everybody can buy Medicare, for example..."
"Transitioning a system is a very difficult and costly and lengthy enterprise. It's not like you can turn on a switch and you go from one system to another. So it's possible that up front, you wouldn't need not just-- you might need an additional ninety or a hundred billion dollars a year."

Obama - (SEIU Healthcare Forum) - 3/24/07
"But I don't think we're going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There's going to be potentially some transition process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out.."

Obama - Public Remarks - 1/27/05
"There's no denying that part of the solution in the health care arena as we transition and deal with the legacy systems that we've inherited will probably require some additional money."

Obama - Remarks to American Medical Association - 6/15/2009
"The public option is not your enemy. It is your friend...Let me also address an illegitimate concern that is being put forward by those who are claiming a public option is somehow a Trojan horse for a single payer system."

Obama - (SEIU Healthcare Forum) - 3/24/07
"My commitment is to make sure we've got universal health care for all Americans by the end of my first term as president..."
"I would hope that we could set up a system that allows those who can't go through their employers to access a federal system or a state pool of some sort...but I don't think we're going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There's going to be potentially some transition process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out.."

Rep. Barney Frank (D - MA) - 7/27/09
"I think if we get a good public option, it could lead to single payer and that's the best way to reach single payer."

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D - IL) - 4/18/09
"And next to me was a guy from the insurance company who then argued against the public health insurance option saying, 'It wouldn't let private insurance compete--that a public option will put the private insurance industry out of business and lead to single payer.' He was right. The man was right."

Obama - Public Remarks
"Nobody is talking about some government take over of health care."

Barack Obama’s Senior Advisor, Valerie Jarrett, tweeted on Monday, “FACT: Nothing in #ObamaCare forces people out of their health plans. No change is required unless insurance companies change existing plans.”
some of the responses are chuckle worthy.

Obamacare Navigator Hasn't Signed Up Anyone Because It's Too Expensive | The Weekly Standard

"So far, no one," says the Obamacare navigator. "Thus far everybody has taken a look at the rates and they've walked out the door. There's sticker shock. They just can't afford it."

Default 248 Obamacare enrollees in the first day...

Obamacare enrollments got off to very slow start, documents show - CBS News

248 is a rounding error. This is beyond pathetic. This is what happens when a whole CITY full of people who have never even operated a lemonade stand try to run the health care industry.

We need more of the word LIAR. Lying liars. Bullshit artists. The Bourgeois putting one over on the Proletariat. ******* sick.

Great read by Krauthammer:

Charles Krauthammer: Obamacare laid bare - The Washington Post

The cancellations lay bare three pillars of Obamacare: (a) mendacity, (b) paternalism and (c) subterfuge.

(a) Those letters are irrefutable evidence that President Obama’s repeated you-keep-your-coverage claim was false. Why were they sent out? Because Obamacare renders illegal (with exceedingly narrow “grandfathered” exceptions) the continuation of any insurance plan deemed by Washington regulators not to meet their arbitrary standards for adequacy. Example: No maternity care? You are terminated.

So a law designed to cover the uninsured is now throwing far more people off their insurance than it can possibly be signing up on the nonfunctioning insurance exchanges. Indeed, most of the 19 million people with individual insurance will have to find new and likely more expensive coverage. And that doesn’t even include the additional millions who are sure to lose their employer-provided coverage. That’s a lot of people. That’s a pretty big lie.

...

(b) Beyond mendacity, there is liberal paternalism, of which these forced cancellations are a classic case. We canceled your plan, explained presidential spokesman Jay Carney, because it was substandard. We have a better idea.

Translation: Sure, you freely chose the policy, paid for the policy, renewed the policy, liked the policy. But you’re too primitive to know what you need. We do. Your policy is hereby canceled.

Because what you really need is what our experts have determined must be in every plan. So a couple in their 60s must buy maternity care. A teetotaler must buy substance abuse treatment. And a healthy 28-year-old with perfectly appropriate catastrophic insurance must pay for bells and whistles for which he has no use.

It’s Halloween. There is a knock at your door. You hear: “We’re the government and we’re here to help.”

You hide.

...

(c) As for subterfuge, these required bells and whistles aren’t just there to festoon the health-care Christmas tree with voter-pleasing freebies. The planners knew all along that if you force insurance buyers to overpay for stuff they don’t need, that money can subsidize other people.

Obamacare is the largest transfer of wealth in recent American history. But you can’t say that openly lest you lose elections. So you do it by subterfuge: hidden taxes, penalties, mandates and coverage requirements that yield a surplus of overpayments.

So that your president can promise to cover 30 million uninsured without costing the government a dime. Which from the beginning was the biggest falsehood of them all. And yet the free lunch is the essence of modern liberalism. Free mammograms, free preventative care, free contraceptives for Sandra Fluke. Come and get it.

And then when you find your policy canceled, your premium raised and your deductible outrageously increased, you’ve learned the real meaning of “free” in the liberal lexicon: something paid for by your neighbor — best, by subterfuge.

Top Hospitals Opt Out of Obamacare - US News and World Report

The Obama Administration has been claiming that insurance companies will be competing for your dollars under the Affordable Care Act, but apparently they haven't surveyed the nation's top hospitals.

Americans who sign up for Obamacare will be getting a big surprise if they expect to access premium health care that may have been previously covered under their personal policies. Most of the top hospitals will accept insurance from just one or two companies operating under Obamacare.

...

Watchdog.org looked at the top 18 hospitals nationwide as ranked by U.S. News and World Report for 2013-2014. We contacted each hospital to determine their contracts and talked to several insurance companies, as well.

The result of our investigation: Many top hospitals are simply opting out of Obamacare.

The Fact Checker: Obama’s pledge that ‘no one will take away’ your health plan

WashPost already gave it Four Pinocchios.

Krauthammer did a recent interview where he said he's much more cautious with what he says now because people actually listen to him and he has a lot of influence.
