Default Exhaust flange resurfacing?

Before putting my turbo together I thought I might get the exhaust housing flanges surfaced. Where do you typically go for this?

Is there a good way to determine if its warped. i.e. straight edge, sit it on a table, etc.

I just want to avoid putting everything together just to have to take it apart again.

Thanks

Put a straight edge on it and try to slip feeler gauges between the flange and the straight edge.

A decent belt sander will knock the flanges flat enough to seal. Just make sure you get the whole flange on in each pass or you'll make life all sorts of difficult for yourself.

For 20-30 bucks or a so a machine shop I go to did all sides of mine. I HATE belt sanders for surfacing. It's not the side of my house or lawn furnature, keep it away. It's really easy to F it up. Plus it's not exactly the smoothest surface after, depending on paper grit. The place I go to doesn't do engine work, just CNC machining and hydralics. Very honest guys. I drive over an hour each way instead of using locals to use them. They're about 20 mins closer to you than when you came and got those seats. Speaking of which. How's the seats? Sucks you didn't have time to hang.

Seats are great, they fit me nicely. I finally got them in the car. Unfortunately it means most of the population can no longer ride in my car.

Yeah, we were on the way back from Indy. They still talk about how I made them detour to pick up race seats.
