1.8 NA with GT28RS .86AR dyno
Just got back from the dyno.
Im running a Begi cast manifold stainless downpipe, 3 inch cat and exhaust. My injectors are getting closed to maxed out and my IAT were rising due to my small BegiS intercooler so I limited boost to 11 to 12psi and very conservative timing on 93 octane. http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/6789/116102.jpg |
Looks pretty good to me for 11psi. That turbo should really wake up with a little bit more boost

Very nice! I decided to build a setup with this turbo. I have both .86 & .64 tial turbines and hopefully will work with a dyno shop that will let me dyno both the same day for the same fee.

Since I had a couple people ask:
The tuning was done on a dynapack dyno at evans tuning in PA (right across the delaware river from Route 80) Jeff Evans is an awesome tuner and very familar with the AEM EMS. |

High numbers, better than me with the same equipment and less manifold pressure...probably because of my low static compression.
BTW, that turbo doesn't start to shine until 15+psi though. 15psi through mine would put me well into 300whp on a dynojet. |

My next turbo will be the gt28rs. Hopefully Tim will have done enough testing to determine which size turbine is better by the time I'm ready to buy :). |
It'll also mean i'll be suck with the turbine that doesn't work as well.

As for time on the dyno, we started around 11:30am and we were off the dyno at around 4pm and then spent another 15 mins or so checking how the car did just driving around town. I think everything could have been done faster but I kept having weird wastegate/boost solenoid issues which slowed us down. My car would either boost really steady at 10psi, then after changing the duty cycle by like 1% on the boost solenoid my car would all of a sudden boost all the way to boost/fuel cut (14.5psi). My MAC solenoid that Im running doesnt seem to like to run more than 50% duty cycle. Boost would climb steadily if I adjusted all the way to 50%, but when I even changed it to 51%, it would go all the way to fuel cut. Took some time fiddling with the actuator tension to get it to be a stable 11 to 12 psi |
