Default Oil Pan Fitting w/ 45* Bend - AC Clearance

Anyone have experience if an oil pan fitting will clear the AC, w/ a 45* bend?

What's "HB" stand for? Hose bend?

Why even bother? A straight fitting works and fits.

That's how a 45 would fit in the theoretically correct position (farthest forward and highest up), there's not much scope to do that with AC:

I just finished on my 1.8 with AC - ended up using a straight barbed fitting. It is near impossible to screw on a 45 degree fitting - it will hit the AC mounting bracket so you will need to remove it and install it back on. The only way I can see this being practical is if you install a straight AN fitting and use a 45 degree bend AN fitting on the oil drain hose.
