16g spool

Finally was able to get some tuning done, start tweaking my EBC, and do a couple 4th gear boosted, data logged pulls. I'm continually impressed with the much-maligned 16g's performance:

Boost onset ~1600rpm
6psi@3000rpm
9psi@3400rpm

That should improve when I move my EBC settings a bit. Currently 100%DC only until 3000rpm...and it's noticeable in the log when it starts to modulate (or rather, go to wastegate).

On another note, the MAP signal is much cleaner when boost is controlled by EBC rather than wastegate alone. Interesting.

Now...I can't decide if I should aim for 10psi or stay with 9psi for a while... Time to play with HighRes tomorrow.

Wife is out of town and suddenly all these car tuning projects getting done. Weird ;)

Got HighRes working today, version 10g via Saboteur's posted images. Works great! Idle was WAY more smooth and tunable, didn't have as many idle droops coming to a stop, and overall more smooth throughout the rev band. Amazing stuff.

If you haven't upgraded to HighRes: do it. Yesterday.

What 16g are you running anyway since there are 3 different types in the small, big and evo.

The 16g seem to spool nicely on the miata.

Very nice!

Just go with 10psi there should be that much of a difference there.... well sorta

Boost varies between 8.5-9.7psi from 3400 to redline, with most rpm ~9psi. It doesn't look exactly rpm dependent, so I'm not sure there is anything I can to even it out via EBC DC. Anybody else have a somewhat erratic MAP reading in boost?

edit: took a look at some of Scott's posted logs...mine doesn't look any more erratic than those, I don't think. phew.
