1999 Miata Injectors in 90 1.6 Miata Turbo
Hi Guys,
Are there any issues with installing 1999 redtop Miata injectors in a 90 1.6 Miata turbo vehicle? I know that the 94-97 Miata 1.8 230cc injectors are a drop-in upgrade but I am wondering if there are any known issues with using the 99 1.8 injectors instead since I can get my hands on them. I assume they are also a drop in replacement. Your comments are welcome. |
Hey. There's a pretty good (bad-ass) FAQ available here:

I already answered this in the other forum.
Don't believe me? Try the SEARCH function. You'd be suprised what you can find. |
the are supossed to have a better flow pattern since they run at 60psi vs. 50psi on all others.
but they flow signifigantly less than most others 1.8s. 240cc vs 265cc |
Even though they look different, they fit just fine and work just fine too without any idle issues. I hear that they can make some pretty decent power too. ;)
|
yes they can surprisingly (again, mostly likely flow pattern). hey, was bruce using the 99's or 94's?
|
94-97
|
why do you think there is a difference in flow pattern?
|
they are thinner and don't look like a typical miata injector. I think they have different pintles/nozzles and were used to flow at 60psi on the 99-00 miatas.
