2.5" Custom Exhaust Routing- On My Axle!!??

I just got this car and the exhaust rests/hits the left axle because of the stock routing. Does anyone know a better way of routing the exhaust or what can be done to get clearance. I can bend the hanger a bit with a torch to move it over about half an inch but is there another way?
Anyone have pictures of a different setup maybe because the clank and rattle I get with this current pipe is annoying and I always think something is breaking when I hear it.

well the only option you have is to get a new the existing peace bent for better clearance or just get a new piece put in either will cost you about 60-90 bucks at your local payless or midas.

The local guy here actually did a full cat back 2.5", flow40 (single in dual out), 3" tips on my ranger for $200cash. He charges $20 for test pipes usually. Wish he did mandrel bends and could build me a cage.
He works miracles when it comes to exhuast for cheap, I'll just take it to him and see what he says. Be nice to get the miata on the rack anyway.

sounds like a good deal even inKy with no smog laws they wont touch doing a test pipe or gutting a cat around here least not for me but thats ok i can DI myself.

I might just back the car into the shop at my university, seeing how I am a manufacturing major, and bend the hanger myself. We'll see.

Have you seen many people run cutouts after their downpipe then run smaller pipe back to get more clearance? This is just a curiousity question, I don't have $$ to throw at all new exhaust when mine is very functional.

Thank you! Exhaust prices are such b.s.

I hate the local Midas dumbasses. 30 bucks to weld in an exhaust bung. (I pre-drilled the hole). No thanks..

I built my exhaust to dump out right behind the driver's seat. I think I parts were something like $27. I have a full write-up of it on my website (which is having DNS problems right now).

Try my normal link or the one below (if it doesn't work now, try again in a day)

I ran my 2.5 inch exhaust through the area you are talking about without any problems. Did they replace your rubber grommets that hold your exhaust hangers in place? If not, you may consider replacing them to stiffen your exhaust hangars.
