2004 Down pipe

New to the forum, love it.

Building a Race car based of a 2004 turbo car. Looking for a better down pipe, 2.5 inch is what we are looking for.

welcome, google is your friend

2fast4u 09-08-2016 04:56 PM

Really, don't think I already did that. Tried two different guys and have gotten zero replies.

It isn't like you gave us any details. 2004 turbo car does not tell us much. I can think of over half a dozen different setups that fit on a 2004 and they all use different downpipes.

I'm not sure if you're joking or really this dense.
Is this your first time using the internet?

pictures and build specs would really help us answer your question.

this is how your post reads:

I have a 2004 box with 4 wheels, it has turbo.

can you recommend a good 2.5" downpipe?

2fast4u 09-09-2016 07:36 AM

Lets try this, 2004 Mazdaspeed, stock turbo, ISO 2.5" non factory, better then stock, down pipe.

shuiend 09-09-2016 07:47 AM

Begi might make one. Other then that no one does.

borka 09-09-2016 07:55 AM

Did you even try to use google? i just typed "mazdaspeed miata downpipe" and the very first two results are what you need.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=mazdaspeed+miata+downpipe

here is a good downpipe for a stock mazdaspeed, i had this DP as part of a little enchilada package when i had my mazdaspeed. low-mid range spool and power has a very noticeable increase

he didn't
that's why I'm trying to get him to comprehend how terrible his thread is and how bad he is at communicating with other human beings

there a at least 2 companies that will come up on even the most basic google search. immediately

shuiend 09-09-2016 09:11 AM

I did not know FM sold an upgraded downpipe for the MSM. Then again I don't follow anything with the MSM since the whole turbo part should be thrown in the trash.

2fast4u 09-09-2016 09:31 AM

"Borka" yes I did. They are not what I am looking for. This is a race car, we don't use converters, also all these units are bolting up to the stock cast housing. Looking for a complete replacement unit. Like the one I have seen from OBX. Tried contacting them and no reply.

"18PSI" well what can I say. Nothing, you are who you are.

Now we are getting some where.

Why not post all this info from the get go, and avoid all the confusion and mockery.

I cant help you here, im only aware of the street pipes, as im running a street car, but im sure some one here might have more info on race pipes from turbo back.

I would be worried that the OBX unit is too cheap and likely will crack under track abuse

18psi 09-09-2016 09:44 AM

That's not true at all. You take criticism and you improve, and then you get somewhere. Or you don't, and we stop helping you. This site is helpful until you lose that privilege by showing us that you are beyond help.

So you want a down pipe for a 2004 MSM. You need a catless downpipe. And you need it to replace the elbow.

NONE of these things you cared to mention in your original post.

Begi makes what you're looking for. But they suck really bad so the chances of you getting what you want in a timely manner and that the part will actually fit, are slim.

Looks like shore makes one
Shore Motorsports: Fabrication & Installation

there are others too, I think ARfab does those too. You gotta search

OBX and CXracing had a batch a while ago, they seemed to work decently. I had one for a while, it worked no problem, but I retained the oem elbow. they don't make/sell em anymore

2fast4u 09-09-2016 10:34 AM

Shore motorsports is no longer in service.

Ryan_G 09-09-2016 11:32 AM

You should probably look at a fabricator. I believe Abe at ARTech has done full exhausts for MSM's before. Are there no shops near you that can create what you need?

2fast4u 09-09-2016 11:44 AM

We are up against the clock, looking for a plug and play. Looking at a stainless steel manifold and a fab a down pipe. Found one on ebay.

link? Just about nothing stainless steel on eBay is worth anything. Also just FYI no one in the miata world is fast. Short of FM which you pay a premium for.
