2560 or 2871?
I have a Garret turbo on my hands that reads 2560-5015 on the CHRA. Is this a GT2560 or a GT2871? I was told it was a 2871 but obviously I'm not so sure after seeing this part number, it also looks smallish for a 2871. Any ideas?

That's not a normal Garrett part number, at least for a standard GT-series turbo. My 2871's p/n is like 771847-1 or something.
Call Garrett and ask, or maybe JKav will chime in. |
or get a caliper and measure the turbine, and compressor wheels

Ah, the wonders of digital technology and cameras. I took a picture of the label, zoomed in and it actually reads 472560-5015, as it was quite dirty and the "47" was not at all visible. So it's actually a GT2871R.
