Vlad, just go with the 76. You should essentially be copying the y8's powerband which is already terrific.

Well, if it is a small change from the '60 to the '76, why not run both and compare? If there is no clear evidence, run them both and see what happens. And then see which one you like better. You are happy, and we get a bit more data for when we have to decide.

I can..And most likely will. Kinda hoping someone that knows for sure will see this and say:
"Yes, the difference is significant"
or
"No, the difference is insignificant"
or
"The torque under curve will justify slightly less on top"
or
"The slightly slower spool is worth the wait for the topend punch"

Because, well, I'm lazy and don't want to swap turbos if I can help it.

You mean bigger compressor? the hotsides on both of them are identical.

No amounts of EFR douchery can make me mad. We all know that precision turbos are superior. You've seen the results. I know you got mad.

I still love you, though <3

Vlad, I'd just stick to the game plan and run the 76. However, have you decided what sort of power you are going for this time around? I've seen a few hints and guesses floating around here, but no concrete answer. If you're planning to stick to the same power as the old car, then you might as well run the 60.

Stock motor for now, because its in flawless/showroom condition and I just don't have the heart to tear into it right now. That means I'll be capped at 250whp. I'm thinking sometime at the end of next year I'll yank it and build it and shoot for 320-350 or something like that.

Of course that time line will be significantly fast forwarded if a rod decides to peek outside

I guess my BOTTOM LINE question is this: how much spool am I giving up between the 60 and 76 compressor wheels?. That is my most important question.
Because with stock rods either one of the turbos will be run at low boost (76 at 10psi and 60 at 12), and since they both have the same hotside the ONLY variable here is the compressor. If I can has more lowend torque with the 60 and like 300-500rpm worth of spool I'll use it. Otherwise I'll just stick to the game plan.

is what makes me so undecided about this. If its really 100-150rpm worth of spool between the 60 and 71 then it should be about 200-250 between the 60 and 76.

Or so I'm guessing.

Looking at the comp charts that actually kinda makes sense:

looking at the 9-11psi region both seem to be similar, with the 76 having a much broader map.
