Default Turbo question

Hello I got a 7.3L powerstroke turbo for free I know you guys here think of this as big but my power goals are 400 and up. The turbo is a v-band and also a twin scroll so should spool faster. The cold side AR 1.00 and the hot side AR 1.00. Now honesty anyone think it will spool by at least 5k the car is being built for top end and little mid.

My sig is of all my old stuff so don't go by that.

I'd turn it into a few crisp $20 bills and put that towards a reasonable turbo. Just because something is free doesn't make it right.

Yeah that's what I was going to do but just wanted to see what people here would say about it. I really wanna save up for a Forced Performance HTA GT3076R spools like a GT30R but makes the power of a GT35R.

For a turbo that big you should put it on a ls1

I bet a 7.3L Powerstroke would pair with that turbo pretty nicely!

If it really did spool like a GT30R, and made the power of a GT35R, then both of those would be completely obsolete

Well I have seen it done many a times at THE SHOP CT on the dyno it comes in 1000rpms sooner then a gt35r but made the same numbers as the gt35r. The turbo its self is $1700 so I guess you get what you pay for. Im surprised I have not seen any one here running a GT30r with the HTA wheel from FP. What the hell- $1,700 for a snail and they don't even show you the maps?

For what it's worth however, this is precisely the sort of dyno plot that most of us don't like to see:

What's worse, they don't even tell you what engine that was made on...

Dyno sheet says Buschur racing, so it was most likely a 4g63

Joe its most likely on an EVO but they never had maps for any of there turbos. If you read into the EVO and STI world these turbos are putting down good numbers ill see if I can find the dyno sheet of my friends girl friends evo that put down 600 on the GT3076R HTA only thing about her turbo is its a twin scroll with a bigger hot side.

Thats the price of the whole turbo not just the cold side.
